3Faveryrogue (80), Asslip, Illinois, USA Nov 7, 2009 Seems there were a couple infected bottles out there. Mine may be tad skunky, but cracked fine. Hazy gold. Nice drippy white head. Some suspended sediment. Dank, herbal, spicy, juicy hop smell. Mouth is better than good. Smooth. Notch up from thin. Very nice hop character. Great piny bite. Mid mouth sweetness and green plant. I’ll call this better than average, less than stellar. Would be happy to try again, though.
CanIHave4Beers (831), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 23, 2009 Pours a blonde color with a nice head and good head retention. The aroma is melony hops and cat pee, I love the hops and I hate the urine. The flavor is better with some nice biscuit malt and citrusy hops, overall pretty bitter and dry. I’d like to try it again; the whole cat pee thing really threw this one off for me though. Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 2, 2009 Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and lots of hops as well as lighter notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and citrus, leading to a dry, strawy, and hoppy finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 7, 2009 Buggy, cidery, almost sour ale-y nose. Some earthy hop notes, lemon and caramel are there as well. Golden orange pour with some chill haze, nice lace and a decent fizzy head. Odd, buggy, tart, with flavors of lemon and cider. Some earthy bitterness as well. Very carbonated. I wish I could have tried the version that averages 3.4 instead of the version that is an infected mess. nuplastikk (1157), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jul 18, 2009 Draft at The Old Fashioned. Hazy orange-tan color. Thin head. Earthy hop aromas and flavor tones. Pleasant citrus hoppy character. Easy drinking, with lots of English IPA touches. Lemony sour biscuit malt. A very nice, sessionable IPA, somewhat creamy. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 11, 2009 One gusher of a bottle, this thing could stand next to old faithful at Yellowstone and fit right in. Explosion of head in every minuscule pour, it took a long time to fill up the glass. Golden orange-red with suspended thingamajiggies hanging out underneath the sixty-two finger off-white head that just sort of sat there looking like a beer float…. I’d kiss your lips but you won’t let me… Citrus, orange and floral hops mix it up with caramel malt to make a decent aroma. Caramel, citrus hops and milt fruit make up the tastes. Over carbonated for sure and bit abrasive, this one finishes up moderately bitter.
sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2009 courtesy of abends.
pours golden with thick gouging white head. To the point where it was over carbonated and could not even drop beer without everything foaming up.
Aroma of grassy/herbal hops, fresh flavor of hops, some fruit notes apple/citrus.
Taste, hoppy, citrusy, light yeast, herbal.
Bockyhorsey (2486), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 2, 2009 Bottle. Decent floral aroma with some citrus. Orange body with white head. Good citrus flavor with some sweet sugars in the mix. Good IPA.
