Bottle. Pours clear orange witha medium off white head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, orange and melon. Taste is sweet up front and bitter at the end, more citrus, cantalope keeps coming to mind. A little acidic. The bitterness lingers for a while. A little thinne than I would’ve liked. Overall, I liked this.

Courtesy hopscotch. Thanks Eric! Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a huge, frothy, well-retained off white head. Smells of very citrusy hops, other citrus fruits, and a little sweet cinnamon. I rather enjoyed the aroma. The flavor was almost somewhat tart, with the hops only showing up near the finish. Kind of bittersweet, with a decent amount of citrus fruit making its presence known. Not horrible, but i sensed a little infection in there, which kind of killed the hops.

Bottle... Hazy golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Terrific retention. At first, the aroma was acidic/sour with citric and earthy notes. Lemon too. However, as it warmed to room temperature, the acidity almost entirely disappeared... weird. Score adjusted. Moderately bitter flavor with essences of lemon peel and grapefruit rind. Mild pale grain sweetness and bacterial tanginess. Medium-bodied with Champagne-like spritziness. Finishes tangy and bone dry. I can’t figure out whether this bottle is infected. Probably a bit. Lower score if I rated by style.

On tap at the Thirsty Troll Brewfest

There wasn’t much to get excited about at this festival but it was a nice chance to try a number of beers I’ve always glossed over. This was one that falls in that camp. I found it good but not exactly what I was hoping. Still if you happen to be in the neighborhood of Madison pick up a bottle.

Aroma / Appearance - The transparent carbonated body was a light yellow with a short lived head. Lemons, grass and wheat were evident but not as strong as I was expecting from an IPA.

Flavor / Palate - The body was thick and bitter. This beer tastes better than it smells. Grassy hops yield to a florally pine aftertaste that then fades in the back of the throat. It’s not bad but I found it kind of bland on the whole.

Clear golden/amber body topped with a small but persistent white head. Aroma of grapefruit hops, caramel, pine tar, cracked black pepper. Medium body with tingly feel. Flavor was citrusy edged with some sweetness. Pleasant and refreshig.

12 oz bottle via skyview (thanks!). Pours a hazy amber with a huge chunky beige head. Nose is lemony and floral hops. Taste is piney and dry with a dash of lemon and pear. Very dry finish and quite a bit of pine in the aftertaste. Body is light, carbonation is moderate/high.

12oz bottle. pours dense golden with white head. nose has hop notes of leather and pepper. flavor is leathery and peppery hop notes with hints of caramel malts as the backbone. a solid english style ipa, although ipas are best with pnw hops i still enjoy this for it’s freshness and balance.
