| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Poured a hazy browned yellow color with a small off-white head. The aroma was hoppy with the malt underneath. Citrus and oranges from the hops makes it a little tought to pick up the malt. Hoppy citrus flavors with mild malt. Light bitterness on the finish. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Pours a cloudy apricot color with an enormous head of merengue. Defies gravity as it rises over the lip of the glass. Fantastic staying power. Thick chunky lacing. Soapy aromas of perfume and citrus. Each sip (besides giving a frothy suds moustache) gives the palate a healthy dose of pineapple, peach, and orange along with piney notes. Again, soapy and perfumey. Malts are balanced with an ample amount of caramel and candy sweetness; tempers the hop bitterness well. Prickly aftertaste with a firm jab of bitterness. Qutie drimkable and saves the palate to taste another day. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Soft grassy aroma. Cloudy amber pour with a thick, frothy pour. Lots of citrus flavor meshing with pale and belgian pale malts. Some pepper. Quick and slightly biting. Not too bad, thanks Joey! brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Pours a medium cloudy golden with a nice bright white head. Nice sticky lacing also. Wonderful aroma of piney hops, mild grapefruit and pineapple. There is a nice amount of malts in the flavor along with bitter hops and pine. What a kick ass little brewery. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a moderately hazy yellow-orange with a big poofy white head that farily quickly settles and leaves blobs of lace on inside of the glass. Aroma is your standard high-quality American IPA fare, with all the herbal, floral, piney and citrus hops one expects as well as a fair hint of pale malt -- quite intense aroma. Flavor echos the aroma: big tasty hit of medium-high bitter hops with all their piney/grapefruity/floral notes, then the clean, light malt shows up just enough to provide balance and otherwise stays out of the way. Thick solid mouthfeel with a full, bubbly palate. IMO, his stuff could go head-to-head with DFH 90 Minute. <P>As I look through my ratings of Lake Louie, of which I’ve rated 10 of a possible 11, I notice that my lowest rating is a 3.4, and that’s for a cream ale which is a humdrum style. It occurs to me that this has now become my favorite Midwest brewery. This tiny underdog of a brewery packs a huge punch and has a lot of potential to really break out if they wanted to and if they put together the right marketing team. I clink my glass against that of the catfish-dude on their label. *CLINK* This is livin’, baby!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 12, 2007 I’ve had many IPAs, and this one has a decent amount of hop balanced by a pleasant candied-fruit sweetness. I’d recommend it.
It pours a hazy amber, which is flat-looking and a bit unappealing. Aroma is faintly citrusy, but balanced with a candy-sweet smell. Mouthfeel, contrary to my expectations, is not flat but very finely carbonated (and pleasant). Flavor is subtly bitter but sweet in the back of the mouth. Definitely a departure from other "bigger" IPAs, but still quite good. I would say that this beer is quite approachable.
