Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Slightly cloudy ruby-copper color, thin layer of soapy white head. Malty sweetness on the aroma, along with some mild English hops, vaguely grassy. Rich malts apparent on the taste wit an earthy finish. Did not taste like 9%. Lacks the depth of the better Scotch ales.

Bottle pours a clear, garnet edged chestnut body with a small beige head that quickly falls into a cap and film. Aroma of Heather honey, buttery toffee, and very old Scotch. Solid medium body has a subdued carbonation that is smooth and warming. Taste has a dominant maltiness of toffee and caramel, accented by some grassy hops and a faint note of char. Warming alcohol is felt. Nicely done.

12 oz bottle shared with hyde and sammy. hydes bottle. poured dark ruby with very little carbonation and a small head. big malty nose with some sour and sweet aspects. flavours were a bit sweet but a little bit thin. this brew is lacking boldness and i didnt get any peat or smoke that i was looking fo. a nice drinker a 9%abv but nothing that really blew me away here. thanks for the share hyde.

Bottle thanks to nflmvp: Pours a transparent bright copper orange with a spotty-lacing beige head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel and light fruity esters with a hint of lactic tartness. Body starts fairly full and toasty without much peaty character and a drier, toasty bittersweet finish with some tart notes. Needs a little more authenticity and balance.

Thanks for the bottle, iowaherkeye. The body is ruddy brown with a khaki head. The aroma is rich with malt and caramel. There is also some old dusty library books. The taste is caramel with some rich malt and cherries. There is a little bit of sour cherry character that is off putting.
