The aroma is sweet and reminds me of toffee. Interesting. The flavor has some bitter chocolate along with some roasted malts and some sweet lactose. Very creamy and easy to drink. Excellent brew.

Smell is sweet; milk chocolate, roastiness, and a subtle touch of vanilla. Taste is similar to smell, roasty, with some chocolate, some sweet caramel in there as well. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and well carbonated. Very drinkable, I’d enjoy having this one in my fridge quite a bit. LtJudge (432), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 27, 2006 This beer came from an impromptu Madison trip. It pours a dark dark brown but is still thin enough to be seen as a mahogany in an off light.
The smell is coffee roast, subtle sweet malts, and a heavy bread.
The taste is all milk and roast. It leaves you creamy and malty but with that slightly bittering milk aftertaste, which serves only to make you want to drink more. It finishes clean but with a hint of bitter. A damn fine beer! Too bad I have to go to frickin Madison to get it. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Pours a depp dark brown with an almond head that struggles to survive. A thing ring of bubbles with a swirly film is all that remains. Lace too struggles to cling, basically leaving a clean glass. Sweet aromas of chocolate and sugar. Breadiness evident with a hint of char. Flavors glide over the tongue with a milky sweetness and cocoa powder. Heck, it’s chocolate milk! Smooth creaminess. Aftertaste gives just a hint of lactic sour. Slides down the gullet with ease. Very drinkable. The bottle was dispatched hastily.
