| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 15, 2005 From a growler purchased at Firm Worm in Arena WI. Pours nearly opaque pale yellow, substantial head. Aroma of citrus and coriander. Flavor of lemon peel and coriander, lots of coriander, spicy and pleasantly citrusy. A beer so solid you almost need to chew it but still thirst-quaffingly easy to drink. Struck me more as a substantial Belgian wit with an extra coriander kick than a farmhouse ale. Whatever you call it, one of the best Belgian-style beers made in the Midwest. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA

Small, soapy head. Lots of coriander and orange in the aroma with a hint of cloves. A little musty, horseblanket...but all-in-all more like a witbier in aroma. Taste is sharp, yeasty, spicy. Black pepper, bitter citrus, and some tartness. Fairly dry. This all tastes much more like a saison. Wonderfully refreshing as well. A damn good, zesty, drinkable farmhouse ale that fits in no defined category. 2006, bottle: This year’s release is as good as or better than last years... Seems like it’s a witbier with some funk and pepper added....whatever this beer is, pick this up and try it while you can! You don’t often see stuff like this made in the area. Much better than the Great Dane’s various seasonal attempts at Belgians. Ughsmash (4079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2006 Bottle. Poured a clear medium golden with a short cap of speckled white head. Lemon-peppery spices, coriander, light fruits, and bready malt in the very pleasant aroma. Flavor picked up faint traces of cellar.. wheaty fruits at the core.. bready malt.. and increasing corinader as it warmed. Medium carbonation and it flowed well across the palate. Finish was high on the lemon and coriander with a bready backing. Very, very tasty and remarkably drinkable. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Pineapple and banana fruitiness are dominant in the nose with underlying hay, grain and cheese notes. Fruit seems overripe and builds nicely as it warms. Hazy blonde body is topped by a decent white head that recedes to a partial cover with some lacing. Banana, wheat, citrus flavours blend harmoniously with mild but notable spicy character and herbal, haylike hops. Undercurrent of funky overripe fruit and old cheese. Light body is fluffy in texture with decent, soft bubbled carbonation that awakens the tongue. Going Away Party. iowaherkeye (1877), Los Angeles, California, USA

Aroma of orange rind, and yeasty barnyard funk. Flavor is tart mustiness, following into a bready malt finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Good summer beer, good saison. A nice treat from a local brewer who does a good job on almost all their beers. This is the best one I’ve had yet and was well worth picking up a six pack
Aroma / Appearance - The first thing to hit my nose was a lemon-lime sensation that made me think someone had soaked orange peels in lemon juice. Along with that, there was a slight hoppiness infused with hay notes. The cloudy body was the color of mandarin oranges and had no trace of a head.
Flavor / Palate - At first there is a taste of orange peels, hay and grapefruit that fills the entire mouth. A creamy mouthfeel of peaches blends with citrus flavors on subsequent sips. The finish is sweet with hints of honey playing out in the back of the throat. This would be a great beer to pair with some chocolate and try on an early summer day. booyaatribe (453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
