Commercial Description:
This is a smooth, full-bodied beer. A rich "nuts & berries" flavor followed by a coffee-like finish. Based on the traditional English Porter beers ofthe late 1800's. Originally created for Irish immigrants working the shipping docks in England. They were a hard working lot who wanted a "stout" style brew with more alcohol content to drink during their all too short lunch breaks.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and citrus. The flavor is acidic with notes of malt and caramel. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Slightly hazy reddish brown with a tall and frothy beige head. Lightly burned malty aroma. Medium-bodied with burned malt accents, some salt and a dry and bitter finish. Some underlying acidity and a fairly high carbonation. 180808

12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Enemy (thanks!). Poured a dark brown with a large sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, light coffee, and some caramel. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, coffee and light roasted malts.

Bottle thanks to Brigadier sampled on 2/13/07: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet earthy dark caramel and dark chocolate with some roasted notes. Body starts sweet and dark roasty with a touch of bittering earthy hops. Has a smooth dark chocolate finish. A nice porter.

Growler. Dark chestnut color with a tan head that dissipates more quickly when cooler. Black malt and dark brown sugar aroma. Definate black malt flavors and bitterness. A touch more roasted flavors then I like in this style and a touch lactic in the finish.
