12 oz bottle via skyview (thanks!). Pours a semi hazy dark copper with a quite large beige head. Nose is earthy. Taste is sweet, sour, nutty, some chocolate, and some citrus hops in the end. Pretty hoppy for a scotch ale! Body is light/medium, carbonation is moderate.

Pours clear chestnut brown. I little bit of white-ish head. Nice aroma. A fairly pleasing blend of roast, caramel, hazelnut, and chocolate. Lots of caramel flavor. A nice little bit of fruit there as well. Chocolate. Med/Full body. Pleasant carbonation. Semi-sweet finish. Good.

12 oz bottle. Orange brown with a thick beige head. Sweet peat with a musty citric tang. Sweet and sour caramel foremost in the taste. Earthy, mild smoke and light pithy drying. Medium light with a little carb.

12oz Bottle $7.99 6-Pack Steve’s Liquor Madison Warped Speed pours a glowing garnet into my snifter. An aggressive pour yields a half finger light frothy tan head that immediately recedes to a ring around the glass and nothing more. Cherry highlights shine through the botto of the glass when held to the light. The lack of head is a disappointment. Aroma is excellent. After working my way through the 6-pack I’ve realized you need to let this beer sit out of the fridg before drinking. The aromas and flavors really open up as it warms. Roasted malts begin the expierence along with a few drops of cream. Mild nuttines and peat in the middle flowing through to the finish. There’s even some toffee present. Excellent smelling beer. Flavor is pretty much in cahoots with the aroma. Roasted malts again but they fall to the back rather quickly. Peat smoke is more present in the flavor than the aroma and lasts mid palate to finish. Roasted grains make their triumphant appearance again toward the finish along with a nice accompanying nuttiness. Good flavor. Mouthfeel, for a beer with these kind of robust flavors, is on the thin side. Carbonation is minimal, which I believe is right but the body is just too thin. If the body was dialed in this would be a great brew. Good drinkability and I think the thin body actually helps with that. The problem is I’d rather have perfect mouthfeel if the drinkability took a hit. Good beer from Lake Louie. Every one I’ve had from them so far has been solid. Could use a little tweaking, if only to make a good beer great, but definately an enjoyable brew. 7/21/07

dark amber pour with small head..aroma of alcohol, pine, grass, and light malt...dont see much in this beer to call it a scotch ale..it almost tastes light a very light IPA with heavy earth-like qualitites..i suppose there is a touch of dark fruit in there somewhere..finishes with some alcohol as well

Deep clear garnet red body, thin off-white head. Aroma of thick toasts, chocolate, and roasted malt. Bready, toasty body, with light chocolate and roasted malt. Fairly simple but well-made. No diacetyl as noted in several recent ratings.
