agillespie81 (90), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 12, 2008 Dark copper color......slightly hazy. Fluffy white head. Mellow floral aroma......not overpowering. Very balanced front, yet still there is a noticeable hop flavor......extremely smooth mouthfeel for an IPA. Tangy hop taste in the back with a long bitter finish. This beer is very complex and seems to have qualities of many different styles.
FROTHINGSLOSH (1446), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2008 This one came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright ruby-copper color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma was strong piney and fruity hops. The flavor was sweet, tart and lightly fruity with a mildly fruity and piney hop presence. The beer turned a bit dry towards the finish and the finish was long and tart. Nicely drinkable but nothing to seek out. Definitely get the pine everyone else does. pope_phred (69), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2008 Beer of the Month Club: Served at cellar temperature. Poured from the bottle into a standard pint glass. Pour yielded a clear, copper-brown body with a medium off-white head. Good hop nose, without being overbearing. Big body with slight sweetness, quickly giving way to the warmth of the alcohol and a strong woody bitterness. I like the flavor of this IPA, it has a number of level, which make for a complex tasting experience. This is the second style that I have sampled from Lake Placid and overall have been generally impressed. Nice IPA. can8ianben (573), Pasadena, California, USA Apr 18, 2008 Mmm... a tasty IPA! Exactly what I think an IPA should be. Bold and bitter, with a fruity citrusy, piney punch. Deep orange amber in color with a frothy white head. Thick and syrupy, especially so considering the ABV.
