jjpm74 (2653), Connecticut, USA Dec 16, 2005 Pours amber and opaque with a thin white head. Smells of christmas trees, and wild flowers. Tastes caramelly with some nice peppery notes. I think I’m officially sold on this brewery’s creations. ChazyRPh (569), Chazy, New York, USA Nov 29, 2005 On tap at Lake Placid location. Hazy orangish pour with no head (Bartender error). Malty aroma, mild hop aroma. Chewy malt with a nice hop presence. This is tasty. Not as bitter as I would have expected, but well balanced. Sweet, solid, oily mouthfeel. Coats the tongue. Nice lacing on my brother’s glass. DYCSoccer17 (1979), Davis, California, USA Nov 23, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Mildly piney/peppery hop aroma with some small amounts of toastiness in the nose. Mildly hazy copper color with a frothy off-white head and nice lacing. A bit roasted to start, turning a strange sweet and caramelly citrus-like flavor. A bit dry with some tannin-like bitterness. Sweet and bitter with a bit of mustiness. This just never really comes together for me.
