Commercial Description:
"An Extra Special Bitter, but don't let the name steer you away. This bronze-colored brew offers a great balance between traditional English hops and a bit of residual malt sweetness"

Pours amber and opaque with a thin white head. Smells of christmas trees, and wild flowers. Tastes caramelly with some nice peppery notes. I think I’m officially sold on this brewery’s creations.

On tap at Lake Placid location. Hazy orangish pour with no head (Bartender error). Malty aroma, mild hop aroma. Chewy malt with a nice hop presence. This is tasty. Not as bitter as I would have expected, but well balanced. Sweet, solid, oily mouthfeel. Coats the tongue. Nice lacing on my brother’s glass.

On tap at the brewpub. Mildly piney/peppery hop aroma with some small amounts of toastiness in the nose. Mildly hazy copper color with a frothy off-white head and nice lacing. A bit roasted to start, turning a strange sweet and caramelly citrus-like flavor. A bit dry with some tannin-like bitterness. Sweet and bitter with a bit of mustiness. This just never really comes together for me.
