Commercial Description:
A variety of dark roasted malts, oatmeal, and our own imported English ale yeast creates a smooth almost-black beer with chocolate overtones and a roasty flavor.

Bottle. Opaque deep brown body topped by a ring of tan carbonation. Nose mostly of roasted malts and coffee. The body offers a little more complexity, with burnt sugars and sweet chocolate notes joining the roasted malts and coffee. Rather silky palate. Still a bit more woody acidity than I prefer in an oatmeal stout, but a better than pedestrian effort.

pours typical stout brown black, smallish head very little lacing. Flavor is mostly of slightly blackened malts with lite but noticeable hops. Otherwise its sharp cheese, a little coffee, burnt nut and some creaminess. mouthfeel is moderate with a fairly clean finish. Overall for an oatmeal stout its OK.

12oz bottle: appearance is a very dark murky brown with small tan head, aroma of chocolate and roasted malt, flavor had good amounts of chocolate, oatmeal and roasted malt but not being over powering medium bodied and easy drinking for a stout.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark pour with a thin, tan head. Aroma is of guiness. It is the only way I can really describe it. To be honest, the whole beer just reminded me of bottled guiness with just a little extra bite to it. Not impressed.

Bottle - Pours dark and beautiful with a bubbly tan head. Smells great too, with notes of chocolate, lactose, charcoal, coffee, and roasty malt. Unfortunately, the taste doesn’t back up the smell. There just isn’t much there--some roast, a little smoke, and a bitter coffee taste that felt off. It’s a little thinner on the mouth than I’d like too. It’s easy drinking, but it was a total letdown after smelling it.
