hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 3, 2009 Bottle… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!… Clear, dark copper ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is earthy and lactic with a notation of wood. Full-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavor is a disjointed mish mash of sour, sweet and bitter. Finishes tangy and dry. Dissonant and confusing, but pretty good... I guess. Bottle courtesy of Daknole! daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 29, 2009 Amber pour. Caramel, apricot and hops. Flavor is grapey and a bit tart with some woody notes. Ok. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 18, 2009 Amber, off white carbonation. Herbal, bitter hops and toasty, sweet malt. Showing some age with a bit of cardboard. Full body, soft. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 6, 2009 Bottle and served in my NB worthy glass: Deep reddish amber with an initial large head that fades but laves good lace on the glassware. The aroma is caramel, crystal, cardboard, some lactic acid, and dusty yeast esters. The taste has a twangy and acidic fruity component that shows that the beer is starting to turn into vinegar. There is a healthy dose of sweet malts and some light piney notes as well. The mouth feel is soft and utterly underwhelming. Yep, this is past it’s prime (if it every had one is another debate). Note that this bottle has been in the frig since the day I brought it home, goodness knows how sour it would be if cellered. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Mar 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slighlty hazy amber color with small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with some hints of citrus. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with some spicy hints.Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish with some spicy hints. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 24, 2009 Poured a mostly clear copper color with a thin off-white head. The aroma was mildly citrus with aged fruity malt notes and toffee. Citrusy and tart orange juice flavor. Some pine. Medium bodied. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 21, 2009 Bottle: Poured a dark reddish color with not much head. The aroma was sweet caramel with a flavor of sweet fruits, cherries, raisins, caramel, and a tinge of sourness to finish. Overall, an interesting brew. I liked it. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bomber. Poured medium-deep reddish-amber with a well-retained, creamy cap of beige head. The aroma had a hefty dose of cherry vinegary sourness that was quite concerning.. candied fruit and toffee sweetness beneath.. smelled like it was a real mess. The flavor confirmed my fears.. sourness wasn’t completely disabling, but it was found in all facets of the drink.. sour dark fruit skins at the fore with drawn caramel and toffee sweetness behind.. bitterness was light and primarily pine and citrus inspired.. finished sour and sticky. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and a sour impression throughout.. this never felt good or tasted good.
