Picked up single 12-oz bottle at Discount Liquors in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy orange amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, fruity character, a touch of pumpkin, and some candi sugar. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium bodied with light carbonation. Flavors picked up include caramel malt, dried pitted dark fruit, some candi sugar and a hint of yeast. Finish is semi-sweet, with a slight spiced fruity aftertaste.

12oz bottle, courtesy of KingPinIPA. Thanks, Mike! Pours a murky, orangish-brown color; fluffy, off-white head with good retention and medium-bubbled lacing. Just a bit of caramel and candy sugar in the aroma; light. The mouthfeel on this is very nice; multi-dimensional malt character (unlike the blank candy sugar from the NG Staghorn): dried fruits (cherries and raisins), caramel, and toasty grain; just a pleasant, fully-attenuated malt core, surrounded by the slightest mineral hop character; all very tasty and very sessionable. A larger dose of dried cherries comes through mid-palate. Medium finish, showing candy sugar and some dried fruit; balanced end.

The body’s a clear orange/amber and it’s capped by a creamy white head. Clean aroma of sweet toasted grains and a splash of runny caramel. The flavor’s about the same but with a soft balancing bitterness and a hint of chocolate in the finish. Pretty decent.

12oz bottle-A light to medium amber body with a nice full off white head which has an aroma of roasted malt almost burnt malt, slight caramel, and slight yeast. Taste of the same with a nice hop and sweetness on the back end. I’m not a big fan of this style but I will have to say I am impressed with this beer. Nice Job.

12oz via trade, but with whom I cannot say. Pours orange/copper darker towards the top lighter towards the bottom. Nice 1 finger stiff feathery tan head. Nose is light and malty with some fruitty notes. Taste is light and malty, with a good well rounded bitterness. Not my favorite style, but it isn’t half bad.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Clean amber hue with a mostly lasting head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and bready malts, apple and pear esters, grassy, grainy and soapy. The taste is better than the nose with sweet malts leading the way support by some nutty and grassy undertone. A smooth drinking session fest beer, nothing too complex.

Bottle: Fiery caramel, somewhat dark, moderate foamy off-white head, somewhat decent lacing.   Sweet malty nose, somewhat grassy but in a real big meaty sense.   Very slight notes of apple/pear skin.   Quite malty on the tongue, somewhat grassy, definitely mealy.   Not as grainy as the Riverwest Stein, a bit smoother but still not quite up to par with Great Lakes Eliot Ness.   Moderate body, hefty mouthfeel.   Finishes semi-sweet, the sweetness seems somewhat artificial tho.   Lingering maltiness, grassiness, with a slight astringent twang, ableit very minor.   Better than most I must say, but with a few tweaks it would be outstanding.   Thanks Mike for the surprise bottle!   Tiz a cool new label too!

12oz bottle. Red with small beige head. Some roasted grain, but pretty mild overall. Oh I don’t like the taste of this, sweet and grainy, minor hops. Fizzy and syrupy palate with med-light body. Maybe this was a bad bottle, but I did not enjoy this beer. Okay as it warms it taste a little better, but overall I still don’t like it. Original score was 2.0.
