Bready aroma of Munich malts with caramel eventually coming through, taste is stronger then aromamight indicate, grainey biscuity malt predominates with light carmel on the side, sweet like caramel cotton candy, which then suddenly melts and drys out to a sharp hop bitterness. That lucious bread malt taste could become addicting. Thanks Kingpin

Light copper color with a slight haze and a good sized, pillowy head. Malty caramel and brown sugar aroma with a nice hop character. Full malty flavor with a nicely balanced herbal, piney bitterness. Medium bodied and nicely carbonated with a long hop finish. Nice to see a winner like this from Lakefront, now if they’ll just start selling it in six packs..

Copper color. Smell of malt, caramel, toffee, flowers, ginger, nuts and a cinamon roll. Taste of caramel, malt, little hops, bread, flowers and hints roasted peanut with a nice dry bitterness at the end. Very nice beer and I will get more.

bottle courtesy of brewblackhole. First of all, I love the bottle art and the name--wouldn’t mind throwing down a few of these with Mr. Kumbalek I’m sure. Malt aromas with some toasted scents and a light yeast smell. Medium copper color with a full palate for the style. Lots of good caramel malt flavors--slightly sweet--but very balanced. Best octoberfest I’ve had to date.

Thanks to KingpinIPA for this cool bonus. Nice orange-amber coloring with a medium white head. Aroma is a pleasant mix of roasted grains and cereal, with some nutty & light fruit scents detectable. Flavor is rich and grainy, like a really good and hearty breakfast cereal. Nice nutty flavors as well, with a nice hop helping that sets it apart from most in the style. Smooth and really tasty. Really good Oktoberfest.

Bottled. Poured clear medium orange with a couple fingers’ worth of creamy beige head. Nose was just wonderful for the style... mild nuttiness accompanying toasted caramel, toffee, and dry woody notes. Flavor was not far behind, carrying an enjoyable toasted caramel, toffee, and graham cracker base with mild spices, dry herbal and floral bitterness, and some fruit sweetness at the back end that I could not place (very good, though). Medium-bodied and the balance between bitterness and sweetness was ideal. Very, very well done! Kudos!

Bottle. Clear amber body, foamy tan head. I wasn’t excited about this beer at first, fest biers are typically pretty dull for me. However this guy exhibits a strong, clean caramel/bread/yeast flavor that keeps you interested. Just a touch of bittering hops in the finish to balance it out, although the flavor is dry enough such that the start isn’t cloying whatsoever. Bread and yeast in the aroma. Well worth a pickup.
