Commercial Description:
This big bodied, blonde, doppelbock is brewed in celebration of that festival of all festivals, Mardi Gras. Generous amounts of malts are added to this beer to give it a sweet taste.

the color golden to a tint of orange. The nose is a sweet malt with hints of yeast and hops. The taste blew me a way. Too me it seem like a cross between a Coors and Budwieser. The finish was clean. It is an easy beer to drink .

thin head that dissolved quickly... aroma wasn’t very evident... sweet start with slight bitter finish... the beer does make me think of the few times I had been to New Orleans, good start not such good ending.

Beer was too sweet I for my taste. Least favorite beer I have tried from Lakefront.

A boring beer in all ways. Pretty much no aroma, fairly sweet, slightly bitter, dark golden color like burnt butter.

Not a very good lager. Metallic and Watery. The aroma is the best thing about this beer. It smells great, but doesn’t taste that well.

Had this beer on 3/19/2003. Aroma is light with a faint malt scent. Color is a pale hazy gold with light carbonation and a thin head. Taste is light and sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down with a slightly creamy feel and a mild zing. Finish is a sweet malt flavor backed by the lightest touch of bitterness. Its a bit too sweet for me but it’s drinkable enough.

Poured a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Huge corn and sulfur aroma with some sweetness. The flavor was sulfury with sweet malt and some earthy hops. Light bodied with a dry hoppy finish.

I like the style and I have had some good Lakefront beers, but this fell far short. This beer was "hot" and burned off most of the nuances of flavor, leaving a boring monolithic maltiness.
