| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2005 Carmel hue with ruby and copper highlights, small fizzy head which fades to a small ring and some lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and pale malts, floral and spicy hops, a hint of apple and plum, a touch of walnut and some phenolic fumes. The taste starts sweet and malty but a quick hit of bitters and acidic fruit adds some nice depth of palate. The finish is a bit nutty and surprising clean and dry. This beer is overall medium-bodied with a fizziness that refreshes. Sum is greater than the parts and this is one tasty bock, BRAVO Lakefront! Quite Recommended. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2005 Pours a dark red, small white head. Aroma of cherries, a little acidic with a malty kick. Flavor is sweet, slightly chocolately. Very smooth. Roasted malt and more dark fruit fills out the brew. Refreshing. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Freshly brewed and bottled for a March 2005 release, obtained by cutting a deal with a lady at Lakefront to give me a bottle of this in exchange for 2 brewery tour tokens. Poured as a picture-perfect example of a bock - deep, amber brown. Thin, tan head. Smelled acidic with a strange whiff of a lemon-malt combination. Tasted of quality roasted malts, oak-cask and toasted walnuts. Got deeper and richer as the experience went on. Awesome, solid contribution of a Bock beer - both to the category and to Lakefront’s legacy of offerings. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain

Rich mouthfeel with a sweetness that is light and lingers fading into roasted dryness. Nice toast, carmel, fruit and a flavor that makes me want more. Wow that was a surprise! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2004 Color, a rosy brownish hue, light and pink at the sides and foot, with a lsuh, toasty tan head, that nestles down to nothing with a quickness.
Aroma, nutty, fruity, a bit complex, full of malt, revealing just a hint of higher alcohol.
Rich and full in the mouth, with malt aplenty, and, again, awash with fruit, feeling even vinous, grapes, cherries galore.
Body is about medium, and the finish doesn’t go as far as I’d like. This is the only flaw I find with this very tasty bock.
A joy to drink, with considerable flavor.

Aroma of caramel, toast, hazelnut, plum, molasses, roast and a hint of soy. Medium velvety body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Slightly vinous flavor of caramel, nuts, toast, and plum with hints of alcohol and spice. A very good bock, almost egding into doppelbock terrotory. notalush (2683), Denver, Colorado, USA
