Bock is a dark, hearty lager brewed to celebrate the renewal of spring. This brew is lightly hopped to give the traditional bock a hearty roasted malt flavor.

Bottle pours a deep amber clear with a tan head. The aroma is slightly hop and mostly caramel. The flavor is big caramel with some hop. The palate is medium rich for the style. Overall, not bad.

Pours deep red, with a thin light tan head. Aroma reveals layers of caramel and toast. Toasty body with caramel and a cerealy finish. Not a high ABV beer but alcohol flavor is apparent. Solid bock.

Reddish brown color with almost no head. Subtle caramel scent. Distinct caramel flavor as well. Nice thick mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown color with a medium head. Aroma has some caramel and malt hints. The flavor has plenty more of those two and is much sweeter than what I expected for a bock. Also a tad thin. Not bad, not great.

This bock pours with a deep mohogany body topped by a thin to medium thick head with decent lacing. The aroma is dairly nice. It’s sweet, malty and caramelly with a nice nuttiness and a hoppy background. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a sourness and a touch of fruit. Seems a little thin for a bock.

Clear dark amber copper color with a thin, firm, dusted brown head. Soft, supple, clean, sweet bready malt nose with touches of brown sugar and molasses. Bold taste, firm grabbing sweet bready malt base thats lightly chewy with a light drying tang that keeps a nice sweet coating in the mouth. Bits of herbalness in a very light hopping sneak through nearer the finish. Close to full body, smooth and clean with a very present sweet tang coating the palate leaving some chewy, nearly cloying effects across the entire tongue. I usually don't enjoy the regular bocks due to having accustomedized my tastes towards the more hefty doppels. That said, this is a pretty straight up hefty bock that I can finally put some trust in for the style. A fine and tasty lager bock beer by Lakefront.

Small off-white head that diminishes quickly. Clear, fairly dark red/brown body. Aroma is definitely malty with a bit of lighter fruit (like apples), some spices, and molasses or brown sugar. Also has some slight whiskey touches as it warms up. Flavor is a bit buttery in the wine sense, and has plum, bitter white grapes, maybe a slight band-aid touch, and some definite whiskey hints. Flavor is not too light, but it still lacks a good definition overall. Same with the mouthfeel. I’d say it is fairly complex, but is a lot like the Big Easy Lager/Bock and doesn’t add a whole lot. (6 / 3 / 7 / 2 / 14) Rerate 4/4/05 Creamy off-white head sticks around a bit. Very light aroma. Buttery and fruity toffee with some bitter hints. Flavor... very slight buttery grapes, sweet and smooth fruity malt. Light but good balaance. Not bad at all, just needs to be kicked up a bit. (7 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 14)
