Good malty nose, sort of sweet cereal edge to it, fruit and caramel. Balanced overall, but the malt defines it. Fruity flavor of strawberry and rich caramel. argo0 (6998), Washington DC, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2008 12oz bottle: Deep, blood red pour with a thick head that settles into a nice ring that leaves moderate lacing. The nose is big with a real malt forwardness. Heavy notes of french bread, sugary chocolate, dark toffee and fresh prunes. Although lagerish on the tongue, the malt presence offers the complexity needed in the body to take this one to the next level. Fruity esthers mix with equally fruity notes from the dark malts on first sip. Golden raisins, ripe apples and plum notes to more specific. Caramel and chocolate notes lie beneath to continue to build on the tongue. Finishes dry and quick, with a whisp of rindy bittnerness that leaves me wanting more. A fine example. Not incredible, but better than the average bock. Lots of sweet malts in there but definitely not overly malted. Very nice. mcjay (304), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 26, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored quickly diminishing bubbles that left behind a fair lacing and a transparent very softly carbonated caramel brown colored body. The aroma was of sweet caramel and brown malts. It was tingly from start to finish and very crisp. The flavor contained notes of sweet caramel malts and was only mildly like other bocks I’ve had. screigh (264), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Pours a color more like an amber. Small that that went away quickly with no lacing at all. Malty aroma with a hint of molasses or brown sugar. Taste is more of the same. Nothing too special here but drinkable.
