| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Found a single 12-oz bottle at Discount Liquors in downtown Waukesha, WI. Pours a semi-clear reddish amber brew with a thin off white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light roasted caramel malt, some roasted nuts, a touch of chocolate and some dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of dark malt, some tart cherry/apples yeast and a touch of toffee. Finish is semi-sweet, with a lingering mild bitterness during the aftertaste. May be an old bottle but still drinkable. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2007 A deeply rich, dark brew with a light, threaded caramel head. Alcohol warming presents itself up front on your palate, with a smoky walnut and caramel finish. A tad weak on the mouthfeel, but otherwise, a rather good brew. sneagrams3 (1756), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Tasted 10/6/07. 12oz bottle. Mildly sedimented and hazy. Amber hue. The body tapers in both sediment and hue towards the bottom of the glass. Spotty off-white head. Sweet caramel aromas with a perfumy yeasty note. Nice roasted aroma. Medium bodied and sweet. Somewhat dulled. Similar nutty perfumy flavor as the aroma. Mild and crisp with wheaty notes. Mild bitterness with caramel flavors. Bready toffee flavors. Rounded palate between the sweet and bitter. Good sticky palate. Lingering with a citrus nutty flavor. True to style, but nothing spectacular. Ughsmash (4022), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2007 Bottled, first week of February. Poured clear, deeper orange with a short cap of yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up sweet toasted caramel and sour cherry skins.. not a good sign. The flavor had some nice toasted caramel and darker fruit notes, but held onto those sour cherries (moreso on the back-end).. grainy dark fruits, light herbal bitterness, and cherries on the grainy finish. Medium-bodied and likely infected, but the nice malt backbone made it somewhat enjoyable on the palate in spite of the sourness. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 19, 2007 12 oz bottle. Bottle in the first week of February. Poured a clear orange-red color. Head was thin and reduced quickly to a thin film. Aroma was subdued overall with only whiffs of chocolate, grassy hops, and molasses that came out only I really made a concerted effort and stuck my nose into the glass. Slightly sweet with definite acidity. Earthy flavor, almost woody, with a sour cherry note. Not very good. Maybe it was a bad bottle. RSRIZZO (1366), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 1/16/2004. Aroma is mild with the scent of malt. Color is a deep rich amber with good carbonation and a nice tight head. Taste is malty and sweet. Starting with a full/medium body it goes down with a rich sweet feel. Finish comes in with a rich feel and a malty sweetness that just grows to a sharp end. This is a good Bock. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2007 12 oz. bottle, notched bottling date along the right side of label, sampled in a pilsener glass.
Poured a partly cloudy chestnut brown with a two inch high foamy pale tan head that slowly settled into a creamy lacing, minimal amount of ringed sticking.
I like the nose on this, lightly roasted caramel malts, grainy brown bread and dark fruits, pretty spot on for the style.
Smooth creamy medium body, crisp and dry finishing, the carbonation also gives this an airy feel. The malts are quite tasty, lightly roasted caramel and a subtle caramelized brown sugar that adds the right amount of sweetness. A taste of brown bread towards the end. Fresh fig-like fruitiness that stays in balance with the other flavors. Soft hop bitterness in the middle that gives way to the yeast and malts in the finish.
Highly enjoyable bock from Lakefront, easily my favorite from this brewery.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 8, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark brown amber with small foamy off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, figs, plum, toasted malts. Very nice. Taste is much of the same. Nice and smooth. I’ve always been a huge fan of double bocks, and I’m starting to appreciate this style more and more.
