| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Caramel colored with a dinkus off-white head, this has an aroma of sweet tasty malts and a bit of sourness. The flavor of dark dried fruit is added to the taste and a touch of earthy hop bitterness joins in near the finish, and it’s a dry finish at that. Okay.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Nice beer! Aroma is nice and malty with roasted nuts and hops. It is also a nice looking beer with a nice opaque brown and a lighter head. Mouthfeel is medium. Flavor is malty with a bitter aftertaste. A hint of rye can be found and the hops give a tart background to the sweetness. nick76 (2678), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2007 Updated: May 3, 2008The aroma has molasses, roasted malt, dark fruit, hops, and a very light touch of vinegar. The appearance is dark amber with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma with molasses, figs, raisins, and toasted malt. The palate is sticky and full. This is a good bock but the hint of vinegar is not good. cthulu81 (29), Woodbridge, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 24, 2007 Full-bodied pour of burnished copper with a shy, minimal head. Smells like a slightly soured bowl of rye porriage. Flavor initially hits as a decently nutty, rye-crusted rush of a thinnish liquid resembling a bock beer. What a convoluted way of describing something. I guess I am just in that kind of round-about mood. That sour note appears again in the finish, giving it that traditional sulfurous quality and bite. I am liking Lakefront more and more these days, especially since I just got their Winter spiced kick-your-ass 9.5% abv lager in at a close-out price of $10.00 a case. Yup, a case. Who cares if it is May, this beer is concentrated 0-60 in neat little 12oz. portions. Cheers to all that is heavily discounted and high gravity! fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2007 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small short lived light tan head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit, spice, and a touch of roasted malt. Taste is the same as aroma with a mild astringent hairspray bite. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild hop bitterness. Much better than there BW but still with the same hairspray bite. thegreenrooster (1842), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma is caramel and fruity with a little spice thrown in. Flavor is some raison and a small touch of dark chocolate. Finish is sweet but enjoyable. Pretty tasty for a bock and better the Shiner by a longshot. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
