| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Well, here is yet another mediocre brew from Lakefront - at least they are generally consistant. Pours tawny brown with a light tan head. The aroma has sour citrus, light malt and a hint of cocoa. Medium slick body with lots of sharp carbonation. The taste starts out sour and cardboardy with some roasted malt hiding behind it. The finish has all kinds of wet cardboard and some spice. If you are into mediocre beers with lots of oxidation this will be right down your alley. This one is safe to pass on. SledgeJr (3004), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2007 On tap at the Huber Haus Bockfest 2007. This was a fine beer for loggerheading. Dark brown, clear, with a slight chestnut tone. Huge beige head. Solid caramel roasted aroma. Flavor was chocolatey and thick sweet malt caramel that smoothed into liquid candy after getting a red hot poker jammed into it. The toasted grain aroma emerged after poking as well. Delicious. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2006 One of their better brews. Sweet and cloying malt character to this one which takes away from the overall experience. Caramel and a bit of coffee in the palate which makes this a little interesting. Very similar to the Riverwest Stein, but still not enough complexity or deep malt character I was hoping for in this style. Decent session brew and a suggested try from this brewer. Far too sweet and fruity for my taste, very little aroma of any kind and a lingering sweet after taste. There is no balance between the malt and the hopps. This one I would not buy again.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Bottle. Pours reddish brown, very thin light brown head. Aroma of sweet caramel and some chocolate syrup. Taste of more chocolate and fruit. Very sugary and very sweet as it warms. Medium body. The sweetness lingers a while. I’m not a big fan of very sugary and sweet beer, but this is drinkable. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2006 An average aroma with a normal bock appearance. A pretty nice taste, has some caramel. This bock is really pretty nice. What makes bocks so much better than average lagers? Is it more sugar?
