Nice breadiness with a lot of caramelly character. A hint of brown sugar and a lingering doughy maltiness. Nice sweetness, good rich palate with even more toastiness on the back. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Caramel colored with a dinkus off-white head, this has an aroma of sweet tasty malts and a bit of sourness. The flavor of dark dried fruit is added to the taste and a touch of earthy hop bitterness joins in near the finish, and it’s a dry finish at that. Okay.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2003 Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body
is clear medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted
bread, roasted nuts), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of brown sugar
and vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is
lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively
carbonation. Surprisingly delicious, from this hit-and-miss brewery.
Balanced very well for the style, clean, nice mouthfeel, attractive
aroma. Stylistically right in between a Dunkel and a Doppelbock.
