| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2008 22oz bottle. Poured a clear garnet-orange color. The head was light tan with a faint orange tint. It retained it’s height well and left some lace behind on the glass. Pleasant aroma of citrus fruits, caramel, and subdued cotton candy. There were also faint whiffs of cherry and fruity red wine. Medium to full bodied and semi-sweet with mild hop bitterness. Citrus (especially orange), pine, soft caramel, and alcohol dominated the flavor, but there were also cherry, spice, and earthy bark notes. The flavors really start to pop as the beer warms. Good stuff. Tmoney99 (4761), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Draft at Hopcat. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex yeasty citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of average duration. Good drinkable brew. drfabulous (1250), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Nice pour. Even after sitting a bit in the basement. A sweet smell I often associate with strong ales. Oh yeah. There is that sweetness. Mix of strong ale and barley wine. Now we are talking. I poured half for the wife. Got to hope she doesn’t like it. Very nice. Rich and full of caramel. Hangs a bit in the aftertaste, but works for me overall. ChainGangGuy (2580), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, mahogany-hued body with a teeny tiny, off-white head.
Smell: Blending of butterscotch and light caramel in the aroma with supporting notes of pine, unripened cherry, and toast.
Taste: Toasty, sweet caramel and butterscotch maltiness. Lightly fruity. Earthy, piney hops with an assertive bitterness. A lingering bitterness tries to restrain the otherwise malty finish. Definitely hides its ABV well.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Not a bad little ASA. Far and away, it’s my favorite thing to come out of Lakefront. milewide (613), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Sweet malt aroma. Sweet malt taste, with some hop aftertaste. Big, solid body. Mouthfeel is its big plus. Medium head. JK (2960), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2008 Big aroma with hops. The flavor is simple, medium sweet malt and more medium bitter hops. Some citrus fruit. Thick palate for the style. One of Lakefront’s better products. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra at the brewery. This is #200 for me innit? Figured I’d make it something special. Wouldn’t have tried it cept I asked the founder of the brewery about it and he busted it out. Challenges Arrogant Bastard on the level of awesomeness. A kick-ass brew. darn1207 (572), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2008 bomber. burnt orange-brown pour with a big bubbly head and tons of lacing. aroma of caramel, cherry, earthy hops, butterscotch and a general candy sweetness. taste doesn’t live up to the look and smell so much. definitely has a celery vibe to it. also piney hops and earthy floral qualities. has a salty and fairly long bitter finish. not bad - but a confusing mix of smells and tastes.
