Commercial Description:
Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor ot this find Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of ths brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn't have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

opaque brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head, sweet chocolate malt aroma and flavor, very little bitterness, clean lager character, tasty but I guess I prefer the rough edge of an ale or maybe a touch of hops

Pours out dark brown with a decent head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Thin body with a sweet lager taste. Easy drinking beer, not that bad.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel and other dark malts. Taste is similar, with some creamy chocolate notes as well. Somewhat astringent, with a pretty weak body. To be honest, I wasn’t very impressed with this beer.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, light roasted coffee, chocolate, nuts, and faint fruit. Pours a dark garnet with transparency when held to the light. The head is small and off-white and quickly fades to a minimal ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts off incredibly light with just some faint caramel. The finish has some chocolate, caramel, light roasted coffee, a hint of fruit, and some very faint sourness and acidity. Light bodied with minimal carbonation.

A very good dunkel, pouring nearly black with a light creamy head. The nose is malt and coffee notes, the palate has coffee liquor mingling with chocolate malts and caramel cream. Balanced by a nicely undestated hop content, but still a tad too cloying for regular drinking.

Rerate Must have gotten a bad bottle last time around. Nice nutty flavor with hints of chocolate this time around. Original 2.4 Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverages - 12 oz bottle - part of a 8 bottle variety pack. Medium copper appearance, slight off-white head. Slightly phenolic aroma - faint toffee if you try hard. Phenolic notes drift over to the flavor as well. Some nuttiness, a hint of chocolate redeem it slightly, but still not a very pleasant tasting beer. Mouthfeel is thick enough though. Had better from Lakefront.

A nice Dunkel. Dark brown body, with a little bit of head. This is quite well-balanced, as there is no aftertaste, and a smooth coffee and chocolate taste. Drink one at the brewery or at Wolski’s and close the place down!

Very dark amber pour with a half-inch off-white head. Sugary sweet malty aroma. taste is drier than I expected: lightly toasted malt with a crisp finish. Mildy astringent on the tongue. Nice little dunkel.
