Aroma of nuts, caramel, cherry, toast, red apple, herbs, and drip coffee. Medium watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2004 Dark reddish brown appearance, decent head formation. Dark bready, malty, coffee aroma. Rich malty full flavored palate, cocoa, coffee roast, a touch of tea, roasted and nutty in the finish with a mild bitterness. Not too heavy on the palate but packed with flavor. jaymobrown (1361), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2004 Bottle. Nicely malted beer. Mostly a gritty chewy malt. No coffee, or chocolate flavors that I could find. Nicely done beer. SledgeJr (3003), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 28, 2004 Updated: May 2, 2005In the bottle at the 2004 Crescent Moon Vintage Beer Tasting. Dark brown in color. Burned flavor. Dark tan head. Light in body and mouth feel. I’m not too impressed with this one. Maybe it underwhelms me because it did not age well over the last decade.
RE-RATE: Just tried a bottle made in November 2004. Guess what? Not much better! Zero head and a dominant sour taste. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2004 12oz bottle BD Mar wk1(hopefully 2004!) Pours like a brown soda but the foamy head dies. Nose is dark malts like munich & chocolate...medium bodied smooth, sweet...I think its well put together, its just too sweet. No hop character detected, some bitterness woulda been nice at least. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Bottle from Kevin42. Pour is nice, but taste is lacking. It’s not bad, just a little dirty. Too grapey, too carbonated. Like flat Dr. Pepper. Not bad, but not good by any stretch of the imagination. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
