Commercial Description:
Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor ot this find Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of ths brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn't have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

(Bottle). Aroma is malty, light maple-cured ham. Dark brown body, thin light tan head. Flavor is malt, caramel, light fruit, fortunately not too sweet. Balanced finish. Very nice.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasted coffee aroma and a malty taste with hints of chocolate, caramel and a nice malty body. One of my favorite Lakefront brews.

Crushed with Jakebra. Got it on tap at Wolski’s. Hell, if all else fails and you’re desperate for a brew, go for it. Very light bodied for a darker beer, and I’m told it’s partially made from the Milwaukee River, but overall it’s kinda aight.

Pours a translucent nut brown color with some amber highlights. Softly receding off white head leaves some clingy lacing behind. Nuts and spice in the nose, as well as a bit of dark toasted bread crusts. A touch of nutty earthiness in the flavor, with some light dried fruits, and a biscuity finish that lingers well after the finish.

12 oz bottle. One of the better bottled beers I have had from them recently. Pours a nice clear deep woody brown with a nice lasting off beige head. Aroma is intensely chocolaty, deep toasted malts, very nutty and some sweetness. More chocolate nutty malts in the flavor, biscuity, light earth, and good lightly sweet toasted malts. Good smooth finish as well. Almost too much chocolate malts and not enough deep dark munich malts but still works nicely.

12oz bottle: Buttery brown pour with a skimmish tan head. The upfront nose offers a healthy dose of chocolate and roast. The aromas are clean and well balanced, very enticing. Esthery notes of banana, plum and figs add another delicate layer. The body is creamy, expanding on the tongue with each sip. More coffee, sweet chocolate and flowery hops meld well in the body. Very drinkable and complex for a lower ABV beer.

Bottle: Poured a amber brown color with lots of head. Probably over carbonated. The aroma was of a roasted malts. The flavor was nutty, roasted, sweet, and chocolaty. Overall, a tasty beer.
