Commercial Description:
Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor ot this find Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of ths brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn't have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

opaque brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head, sweet chocolate malt aroma and flavor, very little bitterness, clean lager character, tasty but I guess I prefer the rough edge of an ale or maybe a touch of hops

12oz bottle acquired in trade with DavidP (thanks!). Poured a dark brown (almost a dark, dark orange) color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and light nuts. Tastes of roast, toasted malts, light chocolate and caramel. Thinner body.

Bottle... Clear, dark amber lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, khaki head. Terrific retention. The subtle nose lends modest notes of caramel and cocoa. Light, refreshing flavor. The spicy, citric hops balance the dark malts very well. Nearly medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Thin, watery finish. Refreshing, at least. Kudos to headbanger for shipping the bottle!

A sweet, malty Milwaukee classic. Refreshing and smooth, but a bit watery for a dark beer.

Pours a dark amber. Strong coffee aroma with sweet malty undertones. Small head, moderate carbonation. Flavor slightly tangy, one of the better dunkels I’ve had.

Deep brown-amber beer, creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and toasty with a kiss of cocoa. Fairly bready/toasty flavour with a lingering bready character. Lightly floral/spicy hop character. Fairly clean and straightforward, but it is quite nice. Lingering herbal bitterness.

Dark brown with some red light coming through. Small tan head. Aroma of old coffee, hay and some cream. Starts out as a regular beer, some mild hay and coffee flavors, but the end of the drink and the finish is pretty nice. Robust and bold chocolate malts show up, as well as some bitterness with a harsh coffee flavor.
