Aroma is strong caramel and cherry, slightly burnt. Flavor is watery, hops and strong caramel/crystal malts. Cherry body with a crisp finish. Very american, boring. Theres no booze but i’m still tasting it. Ughsmash (4032), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2006 On tap at The Nomad. Poured a clear, rich amber with a respectable cap of off-white headage. Nose was of rich caramel and spicy malts.. along with herbal hops and toffee... very enticing. Flavor stepped it up another notch... spicy caramel blended well some significant hoppage (both herbal and Cascades well represented), buttered toffee, and mild nuttiness. Smooth and about medium-bodied on the palate. Very, very good! JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Tap at Trocadero. Dirty coppery red body... nice light, Christmas night fire glimmer. Creamy off-white lasting head. Aroma is light... sweet orange and honey. Taste is predominantly fresh C hops, flower, and some hidden sweet belgian esters in the background. It was served as a nice temperature, but as it warmed a bit some sweet honey covered allspice came through in the finish. I like that. Very good overall balance and flavor. Hop presence was unexpected, but a nice thing. Another good LF draught-only beer. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Tap @ The Nomad. Light chestnut color with a moderate light beige head. Aromas of toasted wheat bread, brown sugar and pralines. Caramel and mild spice (allspice) flavors. Didn’t have much depth to me. I wondered if the tap lines needed a good cleaning. I will need to revisit.; after seeing some of the other better reviews. frankenkitty (1902), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2005 Served as a lightly-hazed mahogany with very little head to speak of. Aroma of sweet malts, grape, brandy and high alcohol... a thick, heavy scent that was detectable before the glass was set down on the bar. Contrary to the aroma, the flavor came off hoppy & bitter (not that I minded) under a caramel candy-sweetness. Dry palate was noticably alcoholic. Felt big in contrast to a thin mouthfeel.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 22, 2005 Sampled at Trocadero. Wow, is this a good beer. Through the low bar lights, I could see this beer had a beautiful hue to it. The look is quickly surpassed by its wonderful taste. Such a great beer. badgerben (3600), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2005 At the Nomad. Dark amber color with a thin head. No aroma, though it could be the overwhelming smoke from the bar... Sweet malt taste with a strong buttery component on the end. Oddly enough, I did not pick up the hops at all. Not too damn bad.
