Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Bottle. Pours a pretty dark mahogany black with beige head. The aroma is coffee, raisin, and Malted Milk Balls. The flavor is heavy on the cold coffee, though the coffee flavor is a much more appropriate one than usual. Unfortunately, there’s not much else going on. Some plain malt flavor, cookies, cheap prune juice. Mouthfeel is a little on the thin and fizzy side. Drinkable, but mainly because I like the coffee.

Pours a dark dark brown, mostly black color, nice off tan-brown colored head, great retention, ok lacing. The aroma was all coffee. The flavor was mostly coffee, light bits of chocolate underneath. The fullness of the flavor was amazing for 4.X% ABV. A slight bit astringent (slightly off, couldn’t place it), but for this ABV and flavor, I was impressed. Am surprised to see it rated so low within style, although I wouldn’t necessarily put it at the top of the class, fairly simple and one dimensional. A nice "little" brew (by my counts and against the grain) from a brewer that hasn’t won me over yet, go figure. (Re-rate a couple more times in May 07, still decent in my book.)

Soy sauce aroma. Pours black with a very thin brown head. Tastes of dark roasted malts and fairly well balanced hops. Faint light roasted coffee finish.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a ’jet’ black with a tan/brown head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate which is ’average at best’...taste is down right sad; coffee with stout sounds like a bad idea, and sure enough it is. Not a fan of this one, stay away.

the worst coffee stout out there...brown body with small head...aroma of light milk chocolate and old coffee...flavor is a watered down coffee-chocolate milk mess...

Deep brown body with reddish highlights, thin dissipating buff head. Milk chocolate aroma with soy and coffee, sweet-smelling. Strangely sweet to tart body, almost lactic, with Hershey’s syrup, coffee beans, and light buttery notes. The astringency of the coffee is negated by the dominant syrupy tartness. A mess of a stout.
