Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Sweet chocolate ice cream and boiled cabbage with some notes of strong, bitter and burnt coffee. Opaque brown body with dense, fine-bubbled though thin, tan-brown head that leaves some sudsy lacing as it recedes to ring. Bitter-sweet chocolate, mild vegetables and a fair roasty coffee flavour with dark malt bitterness peering out towards the finish. Medium body with very low carbonation that is quite lifeless. Bottle (trade, Dec. 2004) sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. Thanks, Degarth!

The Lure:
Greens and prevalent roastiness don’t blend well imho. Stale coffee and...can I get my nose away from this?

The Festivities:
Roasted malt bitterness and stale coffee flavors face the aforementioned assorted veggies, coming in slowly from the back. Mouthfeel recalls porters more than stouts. Fizzy carbonation and tartness detract from the coffee stout appellation.br>
Transcendence:
There’s a well-thought out place for every seed in your garden.

Thanks to Kevin for the bottle. Opaque black with a lingering small dark tan head. Oily peanut aroma, muted coffe notes underneath. Nice balance of caramel malt and roasted malt flavors, marred by a sour milk lactose taste which fights with the astringency and deeper roast character of the coffee. Some residual bitterness in the finish, but none of the astringency I would expect from a coffee containing stout. The mouthfeel is fairly light.

Fully diminishing light brown head, very dark brown appearance. It might not surprise you, but it smells like coffee.. dark charred grains, chocolate and a strong vegetal component. Slightly tart which doesn’t work well with the roastiness.. Nutty, oily and balsamic.. Rather dull and unappealing. Thin-medium body, watery, moderately high carbonation. Flavored stouts sure seem hard to master.

Eclipse black color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is roasty malts, coffee and vanilla. A medium to light bodied sweet stout. Malts are nice and roasty then chocolately. Touch of smoke and vanilla. Hops are slightly bitter. Touch of wine as well as a lot of coffee. Interesting beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Quite a weak coffee stout if I might say so myself. Had a lot of these recently and this really seems to be the least appealing. Pour was dark brown/black with small head. nose is full of coffee, some chocolate and malts. Flavor is a bit bitter, but mostly cheap coffee like and very un-interesting. Not a personal fav.

In the bottle. Black with a brown fluffy head. Smells like a chocolate milkshake. Coffee roasted flavor is the dominant taste. Bitterness seems to come from the coffee, not any discernable hops. Strong taste, medium body. OK beer.

Pours very dark and comes off with a strong roasted coffee nose. Roasted chocolate and coffee in taste, quite refreshing with a touch of bitter in the finish. A very nice brew.
