Commercial Description:
Timed to coincide with the holiday season, a very special lager is brewed with honey, oranges, and spices. This beer uses two pounds of honey per pound of malt in its brew, making it an exceptional fortified holiday specialty beer which will keep for years. The spices and hops balance the sweetness of the honey and malt to give this lightly hopped beer its perfect flavor.

12 oz bottle. Immediate spice aroma. Taste is a ginger/orange flourish, surprisingly flavorful, but not overbearing. "Wow, this goes down easy!" as a friend put it.

This is Lakefront’s best seasonal beer. I try to lay a few down each year, and they do get better with age. I still have a few ’93s and 94s. Just like a fine wine.

Dark amber with light head / Sharp cinnamon and ginger nose / Medium body with zesty carbonation and decent finish / Aggressive, strong spice flavors of cinnamon, ginger, and orange / As advertised, but a bit over the top. Constant Comment tea beer.

Had this beer on 12/22/2002. Aroma is spicy with the scent of Christmas. Color is a heavy orange with a dense fog of floty shit. Carbonation and head are good Taste rich, sweet and spicy. Starting with full medium body that goes down with a rich heavy feel. Finish comes in strong with a rich sweet taste that is backed by a strong spicy flavor. Although I like a nice rich winter brew this one seems to over do it a bit too much. It is a good example of what some of the other brewers should be going for when they make a weak winter.

Bought this at the brewery. It had nice notes of honey and citrus on the nose after pourin deep brown. On the palate it seemed heavy with some notes of cloves, corriander, and nutmeg.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Bob’s McFarland Liquors in McFarland, WI. Pours a hazy coppery amber brown brew with a thick, fizzy off white head with slow dissolving. Aroma of orange, Christmas cloves, mincemeat raisins, some gingerbread, and nutmeg. Taste is heavy body, honey sweet, floral hops and cinnamon apples. Ooph, it’s a strong bugger. Finish is sweet and a nice gingerbread aftertaste. A very good Christmas brew.

Bottle dated Nov. 06. With this kind of alcohol, I’d hope it can stand being tasted at 6 months old. Nice deep coppery red that doesn’t want to admit much light, Smell does show a little honey and wassail spice. Taste is richly sweet. Honey is there, as is a bit of orange and more spices. Strong warming alcohol, some cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe some ginger, but not as strong as would be in a pumpklin pie beer, thanks. Also has hints of Vernor’s soda, or the spicy 7-up Gold of 20 years ago. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.A good nightcap to a long day. Being a Lakefront beer I didn’t want to let it sit too long as my previous samples showed their age quickly, but this one may indeed cellar well.
