Aromas of carmel, earthiness and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel,m earthiness, citrus and light pine with a crisp moderatly bitter finish. A fairly boring and one dimensional IPA. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | May 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Off aroma, in my opinion. Tastes nice and hoppy, but the piny flavors borders on artificial. Improves at it mellows and warms to room temperature...this is gonna demand a re-rate. mfaulke (81), clemson, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2008 While this is an overall decent IPA, the finish left a little to be desired. I could have used a little more hops bitterness in the finish, and it was not as dry as I would have liked. I can definitely pick up on the Crayola flavor that the last reviewer wrote about. It’s not as unpleasant as it is strange. Not a bad IPA at all though. I think that the 87 rating is about right. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a medium white head. Good looking beer. Aroma is light citrus and pine hops with a touch of caramel. Taste is pretty much the same, but almost has a waxy, crayon like taste in the finish. Decent bitterness and lingers for a while. Not bad except for the crayola crayons that keep coming to mind. gsmitty80 (653), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2008 Updated: Jun 14, 2008Better than the ESB, this ipa still had a litle of the sweet organic taste at the end but it was masked more by the hops and complemented this style more appropriately. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a golden copper with a nice and fluffy head. Aromas are citrus and pine with a touch of skunky hops. Flavor is OK, but little more. A bit of what I would call "old hops" with a kind of watery edge to them. Very little balance between malt and hops and just doesn’t seem to go anywhere.
