| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2008 From a bottle purchased at Belmont Station--Poured a copper-orange body with a small white head. Dry, papery, nutty nose. Pretty boring IPA. Dull hop profile. Caramel, mild pininess and dull as can be. Still drinkable. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2008 bottle - Pours a lightly hazy orange with a two finger white head. The aroma is mainly of the hops, of course, with a touch of caramel malt. The flavor is led by the hops which are decently crisp but mostly lack the more complex citrus and pine notes I enjoy in many IPAs. It’s medium bodied and well balanced yielding a very drinkable brew, but not a particularly impressive one. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 14, 2008 Medium gold body with a dense off white head. The aroma is some light grapefruit but also some smelly, sweaty gym shorts. There is some acrid strangeness where old sweat is closest descriptor that matches. The taste is light hints of bread crust and salted grapefruit rinds. There is no malt balance for the nasty tasting hops. Another load from Lakefront. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 11, 2008 Bottle from Ryan, thanks! I knew nothing about this beer going in, just that Ryan had sent it to me. Didn’t even know such a brewery existed. Pours out a dark brown to orange color with a nice white head on it. Looks alot like two hearted.. Great smell, just like fresh hops and pine with some grassy notes too. Taste was awkward at first and I did not really care for it, some kind of just off flavor that I couldnt quite pinpoint. After I got used to the taste of it, it became much better. Easy to drink, refreshing, slightly bitter, pretty good stuff. I would make this a daily drinker if I could buy it. valpoaj (363), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2008 Apricot pour with a fluffy white head that goes away quickly but leaves ample lacing...very nice looking. Aroma is a nice balance...good level of tropical citrus hops, some piney hops, lots of grapefruit, but some malt to back it all up while not being overwhelming in any aspect. Flavor is nicely balanced as well...loads of citrus (again, tons of light grapefruit) flavor, some pine notes, burnt caramel malts. Interestingly enough, the malt seems to really mix in near the end of the drink, keeping it from ending overly bitter like (at least how I feel as a non-hophead) most other IPAs. Pretty high level of carbonation, but the body on this thing is pretty heavy...very IIPA like! I gotta say, this was a very impressive IPA...one of the best I’ve had from the midwest save Bell’s Two Hearted! Great effort Lakefront! fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2008 Pours to a honey color; not much aroma. Nice bit of hops, perhaps some pine notes, lasting hops aftertaste, which I really like. A bit too carbonated for my tastes. Perhaps a bit too one dimensional for me. An easy drinker, though. I was thrilled to find my local beer store had Lakefront now. It’s the thing I miss most about Milwaukee! hotstuff (3176), Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2008 Bottle. Small fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted, fair amount of lacing, transparent, fizzy carbonation, and a gold hue. The aroma was caramel, malt, hoppy, citrus, pine, and grapefruit. Ditto for the flavor and was somewhat thick tasting. Fairly smooth mouthfeel with a slight tingly sensation and medium in body. Very quaffable IPA, nicely done, easy to drink, almost too easy, worthy of a try if you have the opportunity.
