Bottle (Jan 08 bottling). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Pretty ordinary, American, citric rendition; plenty of hops in the nose and finish, but not much depth under them. Nice mouthfeel though.

Orange beer with an attractive off white head that left lots of sticky lace. Citrus nose of orange rind and tangerines. The flavor is also dominated by the citrus hops, with lots of red grapefruit, orange rind, and a little lemon tanginess in the background. There is a caramel sweetness and lightly toasted bread under there. The hops actually burn a little on the tongue. The finish has an odd, turning orange bitterness to it that prevents me from really liking this beer.

This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a medium sized head of foamy off-white colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a hazy typically carbonated dark orange colored body with yeast floaties and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma contained nice strong floral hop notes. The mouth feel was strongly tingly with thick hop notes. The flavor contained very nice strong floral hops.

12 oz. bottle, notched bottling date along the right side of the label, sampled in a pint glass. L: Hazy tarnished copper with a fast rising, frothy beige head that slowly settled into a creamy skim. Rings of splotchy lace circles the brim of the glass making this one fine looking IPA. S: Hop aromas of grapefruit pith and lemon zest, minty herbs and pine oils. Traces of cut grass and pungent cheese too. Just the lightest backing of sweet pale malts, hints of toasted white bread and caramelized sugar. F&T: Slick and oily on the tongue, airy and creamily full feeling in the mouth, the right amount of carbonation to give this a soft firmness. Oily hop tastes without being excessively bitter, more of a nice balance of sour hops with a sweet pale malt backing. Mint and woody herbs are the first hop tastes I noticed, followed by oily lemon and grapefruit peels and pine needles. Underneath the hops is sweet pale malt flavors, hints of biscuits and toasted grains before turning sugary at the end. Finishes wet and sticky with only bare notes of any drying hop spiciness, woody herbs and sour citrus with an underlining sugary maltiness. Lakefront’s IPA is highly drinkable, a refreshing quaffer. This is easily my favorite ale from this Milwaukee brewery, recommended.

heavy insulation-like head with copper-amber coloring leads to a grapefruit bitter with hints of black pepper and lemon and a decent malty backbone. A little above average but I just can’t see it being rated as high as everyone else rates it here.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting light amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel,m earthiness, citrus and light pine with a crisp moderatly bitter finish.
A fairly boring and one dimensional IPA.
