Commercial Description:
In the words of our President and founding father, Russ Klisch, "Klisch Pilsner is a meat and potatoes beer," meaning that though there are no darker specialty grains used to influence the color or texture of this beer, it is nonetheless a full-bodied satisfying all-malt brew. The recipe is simple, but how it is put together is what gives this beer its complexity. The deep golden color and malty flavor come from an ample amount of domestic malted barley and imported hops. The addition of Saaz hops added at the end of a two-hour boil gives the beer a wonderful balance with the accent on the hops.

12oz bottle. Pours clear transparent golden yellow, filtered. Rather standard lager, with some decent malt depth coming through and a nice hop balance. Pretty thick, less bite than most pilsners.

Bottle. Pours a light gold with a fizzy head that sits about one finger high. Aromas are pilsner like... a bit of a malt presence that is light and grassy with a bit of a peppery Saaz hops promise. Flavor is fairly sweet. Bread dough and grass are dominant and give way to a peppery Saaz presence. That said, it is fairly uninteresting and plain.

I liked this pilsner, good hoppy quality with a crisp finish. Grassy and grainy flavor, balances well. Finish was a bit more hopped then most pils, which gave it a bit more refreshing quality on a hot day.

Had this beer on 3/25/2003. Aroma is light with a faint hint of skunk to it. Color is a bright gold with ok carbonation and a nice head. Taste is light sharp and tinny. Starting with a light body it goes down with a sharp feel. Finish comes on with a light sweet malt flavor that turns to a tin like taste which stays in the after taste, this is backed by a mild bitterness. I don’t like it, the tin taste is just too much.

Pale yellow color with little head. Bready citrus sweet aroma. Malty taste with almost no bitterness, only in the aftertaste. Citrusy flavor as well. Finishes nicely.

Smells unappetizing, a bit like saurkraut. The appearance was quite foggy. The taste was bearable.

12oz bottle. poured hazy yellow-gold with a moderate sized white head. aroma is primarily crisp hops, with some malt. Flavor exhibits some malty character up front, along with some herbal, earthy notes; the hops only come forward in the finish. tasty, straightforward pils.

Gorgeous golden pour small white head and lots of bubbles. Aroma is sweet/sour hops with some alcohol and some spice. Flavor is sweet metallic with light bitterness and some spice. Feels heavier than most pilsners and a lot stickier. The malt makes itself known more than in most pilsners.
