Commercial Description:
In the words of our President and founding father, Russ Klisch, "Klisch Pilsner is a meat and potatoes beer," meaning that though there are no darker specialty grains used to influence the color or texture of this beer, it is nonetheless a full-bodied satisfying all-malt brew. The recipe is simple, but how it is put together is what gives this beer its complexity. The deep golden color and malty flavor come from an ample amount of domestic malted barley and imported hops. The addition of Saaz hops added at the end of a two-hour boil gives the beer a wonderful balance with the accent on the hops.

Pours a dark golden color with a moderately thick white head and has high carbonation. Aroma has a light sweetness with a light spicy Saaz hint. Flavor has a slight spicy hoppiness to start and moves into a mildly sour middle with a bit of an alcohol presence at the end. Mouth feel is pretty good for the style and the carbonation really does give it a bit of a rush in your mouth. Overall not too bad for a pils but nothing really stands out.

12oz bottle. Part of a mix pack. Another disappointing offer from Lakefront. Overly carbonated, bland tasting and reminiscent of many of Michelob. Not a fan.

(bottle - 12 oz) Lightly hazy golden pour with a lot of white foam. Very carbonated. Aroma is very light and slightly sweet with a touch of bitter hops. Flavor is crisp and slightly sweet at the beginning with a mild grassy middle and a slightly bitter finish. Overly carbonated.

12oz bottle from BOTW. Light golden pour with a ring of white. Aroma is a little sweet but crisp. Not too much going on but definitely drinkable and enjoyable.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub (Milwaukee, WI). Pours a lightly hazed dark golden hue with nice white bubbly head, aromas are muted with some light graininess. Taste is grainy malt, light bitterness and pilsner "skunk", but largely a smooth sessioner brew, a lawnmower. Pretty good for the style.

Nice clean, mild hoppy aroma. Slightly spicy. This beer has a classic nose of a great Pils. Nice deep golden color. Light carbonation with a big frothy white head. Taste profile is well balanced between the sturdy malt and the crisp hops. Definitely Saaz in the nose and taste. Finish is clean and balanced with a slight nod to the hops. THis is a well crafted beer, better suited for warmer weather.
