Commercial Description:
In the words of our President and founding father, Russ Klisch, "Klisch Pilsner is a meat and potatoes beer," meaning that though there are no darker specialty grains used to influence the color or texture of this beer, it is nonetheless a full-bodied satisfying all-malt brew. The recipe is simple, but how it is put together is what gives this beer its complexity. The deep golden color and malty flavor come from an ample amount of domestic malted barley and imported hops. The addition of Saaz hops added at the end of a two-hour boil gives the beer a wonderful balance with the accent on the hops.

big foamy head... clear golden orange with slight carbonation... crisp smooth with a hoppy finish that dissipates quickly... having this beer nice and cold on a hot day is something I will try in the future.

Clear gold color with a 1" white head. Mild smell of grainy cracker malts and honey. Med bodied and fairly smooth. Mild flavor of pale malts with a nicely bitter hop taste to finish. Better than a macro pils. 112006

bottle. Pilsner almost if flavor water is a pilsner. Ok maybe not that bad but this is a very weak weak beer. I would almost want a bud light than this. moving on to something else.

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a weak piss yellow color, with a soapy white head. Aromas are of lager yeast, and not much else. Flavors aren’t much better, with yeast being the major component. Lots of small particulate matter floating around in this sample. Not the best Pils I ever had by any means. I need some Pepto Bismol to get this yeast taste out of my mouth.

From a mixed 8 pack found at Nugget in Woodland, CA. Grainy, cereal-like aroma with some light lemon hints and a bit of DMS. Lightly spicy hop aroma is also present. Mildly hazy golden body with a smallish lacy, white head. Some light lemony and citrus notes to begin, before it becomes milky, malty, grainy, and cereal-like in the middle. Finishes with some light metallic hoppy flavors, although the hops are not overly sharp or crisp. A serviceable beer.

Not very clear. Almost an astringent taste. Should have a little more bitter points, and body. Has a strange finish, I believe caused by the type of yeast.

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy yellow with thin white head. Aroma is light and had some faint malt and dustiness. Flavor is somewhat malty and grainy with maybe some banana and grassiness to it. Has some sort of flavors that don’t match up. I did not enjoy this one at all, the worst of my Lakefront box.

Pours a hazy straw colour with white, foamy head. The nose is more similar to what you’d find in a wheat beer, as it had that pale malt and banana smell with some mineral notes. It has a dusty, banana and grain flavour that resembles that nasty garbage water taste you get from most macros. The presence of SAAZ hops is noticable, but it doesn’t have a good taste or earthy noble aroma . Instead it tastes cloyingly sweet and rotten. Medium bodied with a chalky palate that ends watery. When I want a pilsner, I want a crisp, fragrant, aromtic quencher, not this.
