| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Pours clear gold with thin white head. The aroma is sweet sugary malts, some biscuit, a little corn and mild floral hops. The taste is a cut of floral and spice hop bitterness accentuated by the initial burst of carbonation. Then the sweet and grainy malts enter in an attempt to reign in the hops. The hop bitterness control the flavor and take it to the finish and beyond with hints of sweetness. A bit on the hoppy side for the style. Tripplebrew (493), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Pours a very subtle honey color. Very light head that quickly dissipates into lit lacing. Aroma of apple, yeast and hops. Hops with undertones of apple. A bit of bitterness. Not very flavorful. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Bottle: Caramel color, light head and lacing. Nose of metallic husk and appley yeast esters, some fruity hop. The flavor is semi-sweet, plenty of husk, a bite in the tail and mouthfeel, but it isn’t anything good, some light stale hop and carbonation. Meh. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Bottle: A golden beer, relatively light-colored for an o-fest. Very light aroma -- mostly sweet malt. Same, same for the flaves ... musty, sweet and malty. Almost a bit of a lemon zestiness going on here, but wtih a dry finish all the same. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2007 Decent lager, although I didn’t find it smooth enough or balanced enough for an sessionable oktoberfest. The hops were citrusy and crisp, the malts felt dull and a touch of a soured flavor came through. Needed a touch more bitterness to balance the sweetness for me. kseecs16 (887), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Bottle. Poured pale copper, thin off-white head. Minimal lacing. Basic caramely aroma with a similar simple caramel flavor. Malts have a nice dryness. Rich creamy body. SturmWulf (65), USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 7, 2007 NIce malty aroma. Poured a nice amber
color with a small but very fluffy white head that quickly receded into a very thin cap. Left very light lacing. Has a very malty flavor that I found very pleasant. Medium body with thick texture
Carbonation is lively but not overbearing.
Finish is sweet malt followed by quick slightly bitter hops flavor. I really enjoyed this oktoberfest. While not a addition to my favorite rotation of beers, I will definitely drink this one with pleasure again. A very good job by Lakefront. If you like malty beers give this one a try. Served in a Stein.
