Tastes of caramel, some biscuits, more tea. Not sure where the soy sauce nose came from, but the taste is pretty much on par. Not bad. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Orangy light yellow brown with a light thin white head. Sweet vinous grapey malt. A bit of floral hops, but dominantly sweet with a big grape! Low carbonation, low viscosity, very drinkable. Round malty sweetness, a bit of wheatiness? A bit of peppery hops. A bit of a weak finish. A bit peppery in the finish. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Pretty good. From the tap it is MUCH better. Nice color and aroma, not quite as hoppy as I want -- a little like Sam Adams Oktoberfest in that regard. Too much malt + caramel makes a beer too much like a danish. This is close to that, but still pretty good. gws57 (1151), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Clear, copper pour with a sweet malty nose, a bit floral and a bit fruity and not much else. Kind of weak. sneagrams3 (1762), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2007 12 Oz Bottle. Pours a burnished copper, fiery and rimmed with a banana-tinted yellow creamed head. Aroma is a rustic seared malt sugar and light earth, held back and maybe muddled with a bit of off-flavor. The originally tasting impressions are of an underdone Marzen, with too little Munich malt, not nearly enough bold chewiness, nuance or good lagering. A nip skanky and all around weak and not desirable. Lacks a balancing crisp bite of hop work at the end. jefcon (1009), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Kind of dark amber-orange. Grain aromas with some apricot/cherry tang. Also slightly acidic to the taste, with light caramel malts, sweet, and peach-like fruit. Thinning palate and short finish. Abrupt malt arrival on the tongue.
