12 oz. Clear copper with a small, but lasting creamy head. Aroma is herb-spiced butterscotch. Smooth flavor is well-balanced: the spiced caramel apple flavor on the malty front is slowly swept away by the softly bitter, grassy herbs. Light-medium body is also well-balanced with a nice dryish finish; has some nice tingle, but a bit too much sizzle and pop.

Lakefront Organic ESB pours a slightly hazy amber-copper color. There’s a thin off-white head that drops quickly leaving a thin ring, with very little lacing. The malt aroma is strong with bread and caramel notes. I don’t detect much in the way of hops in the aroma. The taste is yeasty malt, a touch of fruitiness. The bitterness is on the low side. There seems to be more hop bitterness left in the aftertaste than was is found initially. The mouthfeel is light and smooth. This was an easy drinking beer without any strong flavor profile. It was on the low side of Extra Special Bitter, but a very nice mid-afternoon treat.

12 oz. bottle - Poured hazy orange color with small head. Has sweet cotton candy scent, like I’m at a carnival. Does not taste like a premium bitter, with that said this beer is actually pretty good. It should be labeled ESB LIGHT. Slightly ESB taste with thin mouthfeel and lightly bitter. Overall a good beer and very drinkable.

Smells light and grassy with a bitter hop scent. Taste is strange, reminds me of some kind of candy or something. Cant quite place my finger on it. Not very good, still looking for that perfect bitter. This comes nowhere close

Bottle: Caramel color with light head and lacing. Nose is sweet with a candy-malt note and light husk, some comparable citrus hops to balance. The flavor is sweet and malty with a nice caramel malt note. Decent body and a respectable amount of hops in the flavor and finish. The malts and malty, the hops are hoppy. I like it!

Pours a nice copper color. Smells of sauerkraut Taste is ok with a little note of strawberry... not like an ESB. Barely any hop bitterness or hop aroma. Some decent creamy notes, again not like an ESB. An ok beer, but nothing at all special.

Pours a foggy orange brown. Nose is kind of a tangy woody, earthy kind of thing. Flavor is not smooth. Way too much zing on the mouth. Too much of a citric edge to it. The bitter is too much so and not smooth enough to enjoy. Feel is decent, but this one lacks any kind of smooth aspect to really be enjoyable. I just have to say I don’t really like it.

Certified drain pour. Nasty flavors, cheesy hops, burnt sugars, like you have when you boil over during homebrewing. Nasty all around. Horrid, horrid stuff.
