Its lakefront and an E.S.B. not my favorite brewery or style, but this turned out to be rather enjoyable. Pours a malty gold with a small head. Sweet malty aromas, mellowed but pretty nice for the style. The flavors matched the nose, nothing exciting but pretty decent. I’m impressed with the mouthfeel of this actually medium bodied and carmelly malty, though there is a little raw grain flavor before the malty finish. A good session beer. beerheart (237), Erie, Colorado, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 7, 2007 12 oz - Poured a medium amber, very still, with a thin head. Fruity aroma. Warming aspect to this surprisingly full-flavored brew -- nice caramel basis, not nearly as hoppy as I like my ESBs, this comes off more like an American amber ale. ONly a slight orchard-like bite in this one. (#2641 - 1/7/07) DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 4, 2007 12 oz. bottle purchased on a recent visit to Florida, dated November, presumably 2006. Clear coppery gold with a large light tan head that leaves some nice lace. Grain and bread noted on the first whiff, and this dominates the aroma, but there is a faint floral aroma that can be picked up with some effort. Medium body, lightly effervescent, but with an astringency that is too excessive in my opinion. This seems more bitter than a classic ESB, to the extent that the bitterness overpowers the sweetness brought by the malt. The result is a beer that although drinkable with a certain refreshing quality, is somewhat unbalanced. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Bottled. Mild and highly drinkable, appears I was the only one from our group of four sample packs to score one of these. (I could be wrong). Subtle hints of yeast and pine hgops on nose. Easy hoppy flavor, not as strong as I typically enjoy. chriso (4851), London, Greater London, England

Some pine notes in the aroma, but some soggy cardboard too. Has a fair dollop of bitterness, without having a particularly hoppy character. Touches of dry malt. Quite palatable but nothing out of the ordinary.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 22, 2006 Bottle. "Bottled during" Feb. Pours a bright orange-brown, thin head. Malty, slightly oxidized smell. So, it is a somewhat old bottle, and tastes like it: a bit oxydized and phenolic, but I’ll try to get around it. Has a biscuity malt profile if you can get past, sweet but not cloying. Hops did come across a touch more Germanic than English. This is a pretty okay beer, and I hope to catch hold of a fresher one. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Light amber color with an unimpressive head and poor lacing. A bit floral character with a faint aroma of malt and some citrus. The palate and flavor mirrored the same except a slight candy character to it which took it out of balance with the other ingredients. Palatable and ordinary. Sad that I haven’t been having much luck with Lakefront and they’ve been disappointing me lately.
