Standard pumpkin beer aroma of pie spices. Taste features some genuine pumpkin favors which blend nicely with the spicy hops and pie spices of cinnamon, ginger, and clove. This lager stands up well to most pumpkin ales in my book. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 9/10/1999. Color is like they said it would be an orange/amber with good carbonation a ok head. Aroma is very spicy and hides the pumpkin scent if it ’s there at all. Taste light, spicy and mildly bitter. It starts with a light body that goes down crisp. Finish is a malt/pumpkin flavor overwhelmed by coriander and nutmeg. Ok to drink by there is just a bit too much spice. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Poured a usual light orange color, weak initial head, no retention or lacing to really speak of. The aroma was pumpkin and light grass / corn notes. The flavor was mostly like a pumpkin pilsner (honey, grassy) with significant citrus notes. With warmer temperatures, the pumpkins came on stronger. Mouthfeel was a touch acidic, finishing with only gentle spicing zing in the mouth. A pretty ho hum pumpkin beer, although not bad.
