12oz bottle. Orange body, huge rocky off white head. Smells of metallic pumpkin spice, coriander, cinammon and sweet malts. Flavor falls apart, not enough pumpkin notes to please me. Finish is bland and brief. Medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Very average.

I admit bias to this beer. I anxiously await its arrival every Aug/Sept, so I confess impartiality. The beer hits on all cylinders for me. A nice yeast aroma combines with a hint a of pumpkin scent (from a combo of spices including cloves) to reinforce the nature of this beer. The color is a deep brown-orange, which is what a beer crafted with pumpkin flavor should be. It sits nicely on the palate and sacrifices none of its beer-tasting quality to overwhelming pumpkin flavor. Lakefront has admittedly tinkered with this recipe over the years, but I believe the 2007 batch is just right. Strong recommendation, especially for the coming holiday dinners.

This is OK, but I’ve had mixed results despite multiple attempts at trying it. Weaker taste than I want for what it is. Weaker color than I want. Spicy, and a little yeasty, and there is a little pumpkin, but just not that great. Would only drink one.

12 oz. bottle (bottled 10/06) courtesy of Bockyhorsey - I believe this is the last of the 30 beers Wendy and Bill gave me. It pours a hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. No lacing. Has a strong cinnamon aroma. Flavor is light toasted malt, pumpkin, and spice. Light to medium body. This is actually a pretty good pumkin beer. Thanks Wendy and Bill.

This beer poured a light copper color with a decent head. The notes of pumkin, cinamin, and nutmeg showed well and gave the palate a decent flavor as well. On the palate the flavor of corriander seemed to show up a bit as well, but the nice things was that the lager actually held up well and enhanced the nice complex flavors.

The Dan Journal #40. Sampled 10/22/06. Pumpkin part of the Autumn tasting. Clear with a light copper hue. Swirling white head. Spicy ginger in the nose, along with a little cinnamon. Light to medium bodied with a sweet palate. Good spices. Smooth and easy with a bready malt backbone. Nice brew. Recieved the Gold for the punkin side of the evening.

I remember watching the brewmaster spent hours opening all those cans of Libby’s pumpkin pie filling for this beer back in the mid 1990s. Sure enough, today’s Pumpkin lager is just as good as it was back then. Pours a slighly hazy light amber with a nice white head. Aroma is cinnamon, citrus, tasted malt and of course pumpkin. (all it needs now is whipped cream). Tastes more of lightly roasted barley malt and some cinnamon/spices which is present in the finish. A nice light lager beer with a touch of Thanksgiving dessert.

Bottle: Hazy amber, moderate spritzy off-white head, dies quickly, spotty lacing.   Nose of allspice, slight cloves, pumpkin bread.   Spicy on the tongue, not as sweet as others as the nutmeg and cinnamon are muted.   More Pumpkin and Allspice, slight orange rind as well.   Somewhat flat on the tongue, but remains quite flavorful.   Fairly clean finish, lingering spices.   Not as bright as other examples, but still big on flavor. &nbps Thanks Facto for the bottle!
