Commercial Description:
Pumpkin Lager is brewed with pumpkins in the mash, spices added during the boil, and lightly hopped. The rich specialty grains and lager fermentation combine to produce the taste and the texture of pumpkin pie.

Purchased bottle in Menomonee Falls, WI. This was a decent fruit/vegetable beer, except for the overpowering nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices added to pumpkin pie. This is much like Leinie’s Apple Spice in that the motto seems to be "The More Spices, The More Flavor". Well, more isn’t always better. As opposed to Blue Moon’s far superior pumpkin beer, Lakefront’s lager is too overspiced. The beer looks good, a cloudy orangish color. It smells like Thanksgiving at Grandma’s. The flavor was overpowering as previously stated, too much perfume/sweetness in what could have been a nice autumn brew. Definitely not up to Lakefront’s quality standards.

Bottled 10/05. Poured a clear medium caramel with a rather well-retained cap of off-white head. Nose was of baked pumpkin, nutmeg, and an unidentifiable sourness... decent. Flavor was pumpkin-based, with brown sugar, cinnamon, an odd sour and tangy metallic twang to it. Tacky on the front of the palate, watery across the middle, and tacky again at the finish... odd feel to it. OK pumpkin with a solid (not overbearing) spice complement.

Pours hazy orange with off-white head. Strong pumpkin-pie aroma (minus the whip-cream). Flavor was a mild malt pumpkin with bitter-sweet finish. Great for october!

Bottle. Hazy orange color with an average rocky off-white head that lasted. Heavy pumpkin and nutmeg aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Light sweet and moderate bitter flavor with a tart finish. Above average pumpkin brew.

Orange color. Ginger and cinnamon spice aromas, with a light hint of pumpkin and baby puke. Flavor is very sweet, but not cloying, and nicely balanced between the heavy spice, malt and pumpkin flavors.

Found this rating in my phone from who know’s when. Orangish brown pour w/ a small off white head and weak lace. Smells of some bread, weak pumkin pie, clove, & cinnamon. Palate is ok, very avg. Flavor is sweet generic pumkin pie filling and hitns of spice and grain. Not very good.

Had this one bottled. Deep orange pour with a decent pale head, slightly hazy with a milky mouthfeel. Not too much nose of anything, there’s baked bread in there and some cloves. Not too much pumpkin taste either. I was expecting more, but this wasn’t a bad beer by any means.

Dirty brass color, foamy white head, fine lace. Aromas of spice, herbs, yeast and hops -- faint pumpkin smell. Flavor of pumpkin shines through along with pie spices, cloves, chocolate and citrusy hops. Not terribly sweet, though. Effervecent but not unpleasantly so. Refreshing with long, clean finish.
