It has a great spice aroma and flavor with a nice strong beer backbone behind it. I think it’s important that the beer could stand alone without the flavoring and this one does, unlike most of the others. amishcaravan (239), Winona, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2008 strong scent of nutmeg, and some cinnamon. Also a scent of chai that lingers. taste is of pumpkin and the chai taste comes through again with some nutmeg and a little citrus. finish is smooth with a spice after taste. I would probably purchase this again. IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Medium golden pour. I got a strong nutmeg aroma with a little malt but no pumpkin yet. flavor begins with an average lager taste moving on to a medium pumpkin taste and finishing late with a dry grainy nutmeg. Reasonably well balanced brew. Interesting. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Pretty passable as a dessert beer. The nose, unsurprisingly, was pumpkin and spices. The flavor was a buttery pumpkin/apple hybrid with cinnamon, allspice, and brown sugar very lightly added in. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | May 11, 2008 Bottle: pours light copper color. Has almost and overwhelming pumpkin and other spice smell. The first time I had this beer I was not too fond of it. But on second try it is not bad. Low carbonation and not much body to the beer. So when you put it down, it sort of ends. The pumpkin flavor is nice and not too over the top. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 11, 2008 Pours a dark orangeish colour with a full generous off white head. Aroma is strong of pumpkin pie, butternut squash and apples. Mouthfeel is light, but creamy. Body is well carbonated, taste is decent, obviously pumpkin infused but not too rich in the taste. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Hazy orangey-amber colour. Bright, assertive pumpkin nose with lots of spice (nutmeg). Body is light...there’s just enough malts to keep this going. Big nutmeg splash. Plus, it has lager cleanliness. Not the coolest pumpkin beer I’ve ever had, but probably the most technically sound. pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Bottle into Lager glass. Pours a rich amber to gold color with a decent white head. I experience no lacing. Aroma is sweet spices and the obvious pumpkin. Drinks smooth and refreshing with the pumpkin resting easy on the tongue leading to some hopped bitter in the finish. This is a nicely brewed Fall beer with the requisite flavors of ther season blended in an enjoyable fashion. And it was definately worth the patience to get the benefit of the warming qualities as that was when the beer really took off. Until then it was a bit meh. Not a homerun, but an enjoyable brew still.
