The beer hits on all cylinders for me. A nice yeast aroma combines with a hint a of pumpkin scent (from a combo of spices including cloves) to reinforce the nature of this beer. The color is a deep brown-orange, which is what a beer crafted with pumpkin flavor should be. It sits nicely on the palate and sacrifices none of its beer-tasting quality to overwhelming pumpkin flavor.
Lakefront has admittedly tinkered with this recipe over the years, but I believe the 2007 batch is just right. Strong recommendation, especially for the coming holiday dinners. Good, but not overwhelming, pumpkin flavor, with a deep golden/amber color. Good aromas of pumpkin and spice, finishing somewhat dry. dcr2 (7), Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 1, 2009 This is my favorite pumpkin beer out there so far. I love the really rich taste and the enticing aroma. If you like pumpkin beers this one is great, and one of, if not the only, pumpkin lager. The rest are usually ales. donbusa (11), Jefferson, Wisconsin, USA

Good head retention w/ a nice lasting lace. Smells just like grandmas pumpin pie. Medium nectar w/ soft residual effers. Very malty and round w/ defined pumpkin pie spice. The bittering unit is bright and refreshing. The finish has a lingering malty spice. This is what pumpkin beer is all about. A great specimen. Highly recommended. Oakes (8139), Kowloon, Hong Kong

Body is light...there’s just enough malts to keep this going. Big nutmeg splash. Plus, it has lager cleanliness. Not the coolest pumpkin beer I’ve ever had, but probably the most technically sound. Thinner than other pumpkin lagers, with little hops and just enough clovey spiciness. Could turn you hair orange with too many!
