Commercial Description:
Pumpkin Lager is brewed with pumpkins in the mash, spices added during the boil, and lightly hopped. The rich specialty grains and lager fermentation combine to produce the taste and the texture of pumpkin pie.

Bottle - Clear amber pour with a small white head. Smells of sharp pumpkin pie spice--maybe allspice or nutmeg. There’s nothing smooth about it--it’s aggressive and harsh. Taste is the same, but sour, with a slightly hoppy and spicy finish. I don’t taste the pumpkin, but it doesn’t matter--this stuff is nasty.

Orange pour. Spicy aroma. Bland flavor, mostly spice and pale malts. Very average.

Bottle.
Pours an average pumpkin orange with a faint aroma of pumpkin and just a touch of nutmeg. Flavor is weak pumpkin and nutmeg with a finish of dull spice. Average mouthfeel. Though my rating doesn’t indicate it, this is actually an enjoyable beer. Subtle, subdued and not bad. I’d drink it again.

Nice golden orange color. A good size head that dissipates quickly enough to question whether it was even there or not. Minor retention, but decent lacing. Spices hit the olfactory sense with a hammer. Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove dominate. Smells like a fresh pumpkin pie. Sadly, the taste does not compare to the smell. All of the elements are there, they are just subdued to the point of blurring. If anything, I’d say that this beer is over-balanced. I can tell that there are multiple things going on in here. I just can’t pick them out and seperate them from one another. There’s too much overlap. This is the taste of "bleah!". Once again, this beer is disappointing to me. The body is weak and lifeless. Nothing to excite me. Just thin and watery. Here is a time that a beer started off very promising and couldn’t quite pull it off, in the end. I wanted this to be so much more. I’m not in a hurry to have another one.

12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours mostly clear copper, slightly cloudy, with almost no head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, citrus, pumpkin. Flavor is a weaker version of that- somewhat watered down with a really light body. Thin mouthfeel, cinnamon/nutmeg finish. Could be better if the flavor matched the aroma.

This beer is ok. Some pumpkin in the aroma. Copper color. Flavor of sweet citrus and some spice. Little pumpkin. A bit astringent as it finishes. Good not great.

Pours pale orange. Aroma is sweet and spicy, almost too much so. Initial impression was good. As I continued to drink, however, started to taste artificial sweet and syrupy. Had difficuly finishing.
