Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

"shared with eagle. Poured was a orange color. Aroma was weak not much to get out of it beside light light caramel. Flavor was caramel and sour. all wrong for the style. Not good."

Hazy amber color. Infected aroma. Reasonable malty body and bitterness, but disturbed by the infection.

clear amber body with a big white head, fresh malt nose, a lot of flavor compared to most in style, caramel, sweet and hoppy, slightly dull nutri-sweet finish, fruity, smooth and delightful

Bottle: Orangish amber, moderate off-white head, foamy, spotty lacing. very light carbonation.   Bready caramel aroma, light citrus oddly enough.   Moderate malty character, slightly bready, otherwise fairly grainy.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Grainy finish, malty, but not as smooth as others.   Still leaves me wanting some Eliot Ness.   Thanks JCapriotti for the freebie!

Golden brown color. Minor head. Can only smell malt. All I taste is malt. A lot of malt. Going to Leons Custard for a malt.

Thanks Phil for another good beer! Deep orange hazy body. Medium sized frothy beige head. Mild roasty aromas with caramel malt and apples. Sweet malty taste is combined with apples, and slight roasty almost smoked hints. Bread crust too. Good bite in the finish. I liked it. Thanks again Philip!

bottle. rich brown-copper body with a small creamy white head. rich malt aroma with toffee and toast notes. lightly carbonated body - mostly toast bread flavour along with some sweet caramel. somewhat watery at times. It’s boring though quite drinkable.
