Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

Thanks Phil for another good beer! Deep orange hazy body. Medium sized frothy beige head. Mild roasty aromas with caramel malt and apples. Sweet malty taste is combined with apples, and slight roasty almost smoked hints. Bread crust too. Good bite in the finish. I liked it. Thanks again Philip!

Bottle courtesy of StewardofGondor. Light amber/orange with decent off-white head. Nice lacing. Lots of sweet malt up front with a fruity hop character in the background. Flavor is just standard amber through and through.

Pours a clear dark amber with fair thin off-white head. Fruity appley esters on the nose with a sweet toastiness and slight vinegar note. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, biscuit, and a faint citrusy hop. Not bad as an alternative fat tire.

12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber caramel color with a thin, nearly non-existent head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of honey, caramel, some faint floral hops, grass and yeast. Flavor is sweet and somewhat malty with notes of floral hops, honey, caramel, bread, yeast, some hints of grass and hay. Generally light to medium body with a somewhat malty finish.

Pours amber with a mostly receding off-white head. Notes of sour mash, caramel, lightly grapefruit, nuts, and coarse hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A bit tangy, the malt may have been overwhelmed by hops, or there may have been a slight infection.

Draught at the Gasthaus. Nice dark amber color with mild to no aroma. Nothing good or bad about palate. A little harsh and I’m not sure whether I would recommend or not. I will give it another try down the road.

This is a very satisifying vienna lager. It pours an amber color with a thick and bubbly off-white head. The head leaves gobs of lacing around the glass in a beautiful cascading pattern. The aroma is of toasted malt, yeast and a hint of caramel. The body is fairly thick, but smooth and drinkable. The flavors noted were toasted bread, hops, caramel and some earth. The finish is smooth and even a little creamy. This is one pretty darn good vienna beer.

Bottle. Pours a coppery color and supports a one-finger khaki head that is not going away. Aromas are of sweet malt and floral hops with a little bit of a spicy edge to it. Flavor is decidedly malt heavy... a nice caramel presence with a thick mouthfeel and a bit of a creamy contexture. Hops are present and help round out the finish, but are secondary to the malty body. Very nicely balanced.
