Doesn’t quite have the cutting hoppy flavor it advertises, but the maltiness finish isn’t bad, and even though it lingers it doesn’t get stale. Excellent beer. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Notes of faint citrus behind a good leafy smell. Flavor is quite sweet in its ending, but begins with a slight bitterness. alexsdad06 (1082), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small disappearing off white head. The aroma is sweeter caramel malt, herbal hops, and some nuttiness. The flavor is sweet caramel malt, toasted bread, and a touch of spices. Medium mouthfeel and very smooth drinking. I like this one more than I thought I would. csbosox (1081), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA

Pours reddish/copper with an off whitte head. Aroma is sweet malt, maple syrup. Nice full mouthfeel. The flavor is slightly fruity, malty, with a touch of hops. Slightly bitter finish. I did not like the first one I had, but I came to appreciate it after drinking most of the 6-pack over the last couple months. Drinking this one with chili. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 nice enough amber with adequate tastes of caramel malt, fruit bubble gum and hops. a bit nutty, smooth and roasty with an appropriate buttery finish. the beer manages to be refreshing, substantive and does not quickly bore the palate. this beer does clean up some on the finish and manages to keep a semblance of balance. somewhat of a feat in itself. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2005 Don’t know if I’d call this a Vienna with it’s strong emphasis on hops (American hops, no less)--not that that makes it a bad beer or anything. This tastes more or less like an APA without out the fruity ale-yeast character. Amber with a fluffy off-white head. Nose is hoppy with pine, toffee and citrus. Good malt depth but fizzy. I poured my second bottle roughly to dissipate the excess carbonation and that helped immensely. Gently assertive bitterness in the finish. Definitely a quality lager. I could see myself drinking this from a great one liter stein in a beer garden some summer afternoon. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 25, 2008 12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a hazy light amber color, with a thin tan colored head. Aromas are of caramel, spicy hops, not much else. Fairly one dimensional. Flavors are of hops mostly, with some sweetness backing it up. Slick mouthfeel, but thin body.
OK for the price, but nothing special.
